Position Scope
This position will report to the Vice President of Marketing and be responsible for driving
the Company’s product/solution go-to-market efforts required for launch, sales and
partner readiness working closely with product management and sales. Responsibilities
will include owning messaging and positioning documents, creating solution and product
collateral, review our existing proposal and RFP messaging, creating sales and partner
training tools required to best sell and support our products. Collateral development will
include solution briefs, whitepapers, blogs/articles, datasheets and presentations.

Internal sales tools will include the creation of FAQs, training presentations, cheat
sheets, buyer persona development and understanding how to segment unique value
propositions to specific industries and audiences. This position will be integral in helping
the company establish a world-class marketing organization inside Blue Pillar and we
are looking for positive, strategic thinkers with a “can do” attitude who want to make a
difference.
Responsibilities:












Drive marketing efforts to build value propositions, messaging and positioning
documents and buyer persona development
Working closely with product management, own industry segmentation and how
to best target prospects
Own all aspects of collateral development including the creation of solution briefs,
datasheets, whitepapers etc.
Own marketing’s responsibilities for sales enablement and readiness including
creating internal sales tools like cheat sheets and competitive battle-cards or
training presentations
Own marketing’s responsibility for onboarding and training our sales partners and
organizing this information within a wiki/internet
Working closely with the Vice President of Marketing, drive go-to-market activities
for the company
Create and review all lead generation emails and campaigns to ensure they are
being positioned and messaged appropriately
Working closely with sales, review and develop messaging for our proposal,
proposal templates and RFP responses
Working closely with our PR team, review and draft press releases, speaking
abstracts, article submissions, case studies and company award proposals
Market research and analysis of target industries
Support our media, press and industry analyst relations efforts
Working closely with the Vice President of Marketing drive Voice of Customer
research and case study materials
Requirements
 Experience in having previously supported a product marketing role within an
energy management, smart grid, smart buildings or Internet-of-Things
technologies company
 Strong verbal and written communications skills allow this person to be a strong
product marketing evangelists for Blue Pillar’s solution offering
 Results-driven, high-energy, passionate marketing professional looking for an
opportunity to make a huge impact in a high-growth company and actively defined
the role of marketing inside the company
 Significant B2B marketing experience in start-ups and high-tech companies
 Team oriented with strong ability to work collaboratively with colleagues in a fastpaced environment

Must be willing to work out of the Maryland headquarters office in Frederick and
travel to our Indianapolis once a month
Ability to maintain a culture that is based on teamwork, respect and integrity
A trust-worthy individual who is a self-starter
Good judgement, business acumen and communications skills

Strong writing and communications skills to drive the creation of all marketing and
sales collateral
Experience in energy management, smart buildings technologies or Internet of
Things
Have strong program management experience to support all aspects of go-tomarket and launch activities
Ability to work with Product Management to drive market research, analysis and
segmentation efforts and create buyer personas
Ability to create sales and partner readiness tools to help train our entire global
sales force (channel and direct)
Direct experience working with customers in Voice of the Customer projects or
referral programs
General Experience and Knowledge

Required
o Previous experience managing the product marketing aspects of a
successful product/solution portfolio
o Energy management, smart buildings or Internet of Things experience
o Strong written and verbal communications skills and previous experience
creating marketing collateral and sales training
o Knowledge of how to use Voice of the Customer research and experience
working directly with customers.
o Ability to research market needs and align to a product marketing and
launch strategy from messaging to collateral development
o Strong business acumen and business judgement
