marriage on November 2006.
Norway: On June 2008, a law that
establishes the right but not the
obligation of performing gay marriages to
the National Lutheran Church and any
other religious organization is issued.

churches is issued. The law also
contemplates the fact that a pastor
can refuse to perform the ceremony.
Uruguay: On April 11th, 2013
Uruguay authorizes a bill that allows
homosexual marriage. This is the
second Latin American country in
legalize gay marriage.
New Zealand: On April 17th, 2013 it
became into the first country of the
Asian-Pacific
in
legalizing
gay
marriage. Civil unions were legal in
New Zealand since 2005.

United Kingdom
England.- On November 18th, 2004 a
law for civil union between same-sex
persons is approved. The law grants

Wales: The law was valid on March
29th, 2014.
Scotland: On February 4th, 2014 the
law was approved. It is expected to
enter into force by the Fall 2014.
Brazil: On May 14th, 2013 the
Brazilian Judicial Power proclaims
marriage equality in the national
territory.
Mexican Republic
Federal District: It was legalized on
March 4th, 2010.
Coahuila: Gay marriage was legalized
on September 1st, 2014.
