• All faculty should have a BC email account.
• Brooklyn College uses Microsoft Exchange:
Security and Privacy
• Never respond to emails or phone calls requesting your private information (even if the email looks legitimate).

• Access your email via the web: (mercury.brooklyn.cuny.edu)
• Separate classmail accounts are available for every class you teach. (Access from your teaching schedule in WebCentral)
• ITS never asks for account passwords or Social Security Numbers via phone or email.
• If you have a question about an email, call ITS at 718‐951‐4357 to verify.

• Blackboard is hosted at CUNY Central.
– Requires CUNY Portal account by students and faculty.
• AIT provides content and faculty support (Carlos Cruz x4667).

Academic Software Licenses
• Brooklyn College and CUNY provide many software programs free of charge.
• Examples: MS Office (can be loaded at home for business use), Adobe Creative Suite, Mathematica, Maple, SPSS, SAS, Microcase.

• Proposals for instructional software are considered as part of the student tech fee submission process.
