From the Desk of: Mrs. Reinhardt Happy Holidays to all Edgebrook families! December is such a magical time of year. The students are spreading good cheer throughout the hallways and classrooms. We can see much of their excitement through their writing. They are using “Voice” in their writing and really becoming great authors. Continue to encourage writing at home – from shopping lists, letters to Santa, or Christmas cards to family far away. Thank you for all of your generous donations to our Toys for Tots program. Note from the Nurse…Diane Baker: As hard as we try to avoid it…lice can find us. It never hurts to do a head check to catch it early. The lice can cause itching and scratching, especially on areas of the body that are covered with hair, typically the scalp, neck and behind the ears. The egg (or nits) resemble dandruff, but will not flake off the hair. Live lice are hard to see because they blend in with the hair. With a close eye you can see that they are brown/gray color with tiny legs. If you find lice or nits there are many products out there to treat it. Lice MD is available at Walgreens and Wal-Mart and is pesticide free. Please note that the lice are now resistant to RID lice treatment. It is always recommended to contact your physician for specific treatment. Dates to Remember: Dec 15 – Winter Festival/Book Fair 10am-Noon Dec 24 – January 4 – Winter Recess
