Year-Round On-Campus Housing
For no additional charge, nine-month
housing is available to all students who choose
to remain at UConn during Thanksgiving and
spring break when classes are in recess. For
an additional fee, students may also live on
campus and/or take classes during the winter
session. Students may also pay another
additional fee to move to a temporary location
for on-campus housing during the summer
if the student enrolls in summer classes or
works/conducts research with a University
department for 30 hours each week.
Athletics for Every Skill Level
A source of tremendous pride, UConn’s
intercollegiate teams compete at the highest
level in all sports—generating the impassioned
school spirit known as Huskymania. Club
sports offer yet another level of athletic
opportunity; 41 co-ed, women’s, and men’s
teams compete against off-campus opponents.

Orientation Program
This custom program for international
students helps you with course registration,
and obtaining health services and insurance
information. It also provides you with a
general understanding of the regulations
surrounding your international student
immigration status, and gives you an
opportunity to go shopping for basic items
you may need before classes begin.
Your Life
Conditional Undergraduate Admission
International students who qualify
academically to enroll at UConn based
on grade point average and SAT score, but
have an insufficient TOEFL (Test of English
as a Foreign Language) score may benefit.
Students are admitted to UConn conditional
upon participation in an intensive 4-week
summer program, coordinated through
UConn’s English as a Second Language
Program (UCAELI), to become linguistically
capable in English. If necessary, students may
take the course during the first semester here.
Health Services
The fully accredited Student Health Services
serves your needs while you are enrolled
at UConn. Staffed by licensed and certified
professionals, the department provides a wide
range of services on a fee-for-service basis,
including primary health care, acute care
(non-life-threatening), counseling and mental
health, in-patient care, laboratory, radiology,
and pharmacy.
