CPCC Withdrawal Policy
To receive a “W” grade, a student must withdraw before the first 35 percent of the class. Talk
with your instructor or check your syllabus to confirm the official withdrawal date for your class.
*Financial aid recipients may be responsible for repayment of their financial aid award if they
decide not to attend CPCC, and must officially withdraw from the College and classes.

Bookstore Hours at North Campus
The CPCC Bookstores are pleased to announce that the CPCC North Campus bookstore will have
regular weekly hours starting February 1! North Campus continues to see significant growth and
the CPCC bookstores are expanding the products and services we offer to better meet this need.
The bookstore will continue to open for any new or CCE classes not covered by the this schedule.
North Campus bookstore hours starting February 1 are:

8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday
●
1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday
Transfer Talk with UNC Charlotte at Levine Campus
Are you interested in transferring to UNC Charlotte? Representatives from Admissions, Advising,
Career Services, and current UNCC students will be at Levine Campus to talk with you on
Wednesday, February 17, from 12:30-1:30 in the auditorium .
During this one hour session, you can learn about the transfer admission requirements at UNC
Charlotte and ask current UNCC students about life as a 49’er. Free pizza will be provided while it
lasts, so claim your seat early.
Transfer Tuesday
A recruiter from Johnson C. Smith University will be at Central Campus on Tuesday, February 16,
from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the second floor lobby of Central High Building to talk with prospective
transfer students.

“Come Walk in My Shoes: A Conversation with Rep. John Lewis”
Central Piedmont Community College’s (CPCC) Library Services Division, Student Life Department
and Diversity Committee will bring Representative John Lewis (D-Georgia) to the College’s Central
Campus for an afternoon of enlightenment and education, as he discusses his experiences in the
Civil Rights Movement and screens his award-winning documentary “Come Walk in My Shoes,”
written and directed by Robin Smith.
When: Thursday, February 18; 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Do You Need Financial Aid for Summer Classes?
If you complete more than 24 hours toward your degree in an academic year, you could be
eligible to receive a Pell Grant in the summer!
How do I know if I am eligible?

Complete the 2010-11 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible!
You must complete more than 24 credit hours in the academic year. For example if you
complete 9 credit hours in the fall and 9 credit hours in the spring, you will need to
complete at least 7 credit hours in the summer! (Note that this qualification is based on
earned hours, not attempted hours or hours resulting from AP, IB, testing out, or other
such competency measures.)

Sigma Chi Eta
Are you a Pre-Communication major? If so, you may want to join Sigma Chi Eta, a national honor
club for speech communication majors. Students need to have 9 semester hours completed
(approximately 3 Communication classes) and a 3.0 GPA. For more information, contact Dr. Anne

Have you recently moved or changed your phone number? Each semester thousands of envelopes
are returned to the College that contain important information regarding things such as refunds and
graduation. We have made it easier than ever to change your address with the College. Now you
can change your address online by logging into MyCollege. Under Students, select Address Change.

2nd Annual Chili Cook-off
On Wednesday, February 10 from 10 a.m.- noon, there will be a chili cook-off at the North
Campus. The event will be held in the TS student lounge. Stop by to choose your favorite recipe!
Blood Drive at Levine Campus
Celebrate Valentine’s Day by donating life-saving blood at the Community Blood Center of the
Carolinas Blood Mobile at the Levine Campus on Monday, February 15 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

welcome. Free refreshments are available for all participants at our CPCC Levine Campus Bleeding
