Tips for Flipping
Make content engaging and/or interactive when possible - we
use videos, graphics, and practice quizzes with feedback
Get instructor buy-in - make it a conversation you have when
scheduling the F2F session
Make students accountable - find a way to have student scores
collected and available to both instructors and librarians
Cover the basics - leave the tricky concepts and hands-on
work for the classroom setting
Jump right in! Once you have them in the classroom, focus on
active learning, and avoid repeating the course content

Shift in modalities

Canvas course each semester
Total assessments completed to date = 6494

I feel the students come to the

understanding of library
resources and services due to
their participation in the
Canvas course.
