This multipurpose information resource is designed for secondary
students and young adult English Language Learners (ELLs) in school
and public libraries, as well as others who are new to the English
language. ELL Reference Center will help ELLs to succeed academically
and in everyday life by providing assistance as they conduct research,
build their background knowledge and develop study skills.
Core curriculum content includes 1,000 ELL-specific foundation articles
focusing on topics covered in the U.S. curriculum, and is supplemented
by hand-selected content to help students broaden topic knowledge
and hone English language skills. Customized content is designed to
support ELLs’ English-language proficiency and comprehension—
including literacy, researching, note-taking and academic writing.
