In Christian Sympathy
Our deepest Christian sympathies are extended to the following
members of our church, and to their families:
Julie Ables and Lisa Smith, on the loss of their mother,
Virginia Ooten.
Mrs. Ooten was also Joe Ooten’s
stepmother.
Harold and Betty Ball, on the loss of Betty’s brother,
Andrew Shrum;
Greg and Lori McDonald, on the loss of Lori’s father Euclid
Voyles.
Dear Church Family:
Thank you for your outpouring of support in response to the
untimely death of our beloved grandson, Alec Johnson. Your food,
hugs, tears, cards and calls uplifted us and truly shined the light of
Jesus to all who were affected by this horrible tragedy. We would
especially like to thank Pastor David Ivarson for preaching Alec’s
funeral. And we thank both Pastor Brian Smith and Pastor David
for staying by our side at Erlanger. We also thank the staff, sound
technicians, deacons, and volunteers who set up the Hixson
Campus for Alec’s home-going. Finally, we would like to say a
special “Thank you” to Cheryl Benefield, for her beautiful piano
playing, which she shared with our family on a moment’s notice.
We love you all.
- Billy and Libby Simmons
Congratulations to…
Robert and Sandy (Bass) Barker, who became husband and wife
on August 24.

* - By Baptism
If you sense the joy and freedom that’s shared in this
place, but not in your heart, you can – by giving your life
to Jesus Christ.
WHAT TO PRAY? Heavenly Father, I have sinned
against you. I want forgiveness for all my sins. I believe
that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again.
Father, I give you my life to do with as you wish. I want
Jesus Christ to come into my life and into my heart to be
my Lord and Savior. This I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Unless you pray this prayer in sincerity, it becomes only
words. But those who call upon the Lord will be saved.
Tell someone today about your decision to follow Christ.
