2015 Toxicology, Health & Environmental Disease (THED) High School Summer Program About Program THED is an intensive, week-long, non-residential program in which students will participate in a variety of laboratory activities such as DNA isolation, PCR, cell culture, gel electrophoresis, enzyme activity measurement, and microscope slide staining, in addition to discussions about careers in medicine, pharmacy, toxicology, environmental science, and research. Students must: be highly motivated and interested in the biomedical and environmental sciences. be entering the 10th, 11th or 12th grade in the fall of 2015. have completed at least one high school biology course. be prepared to be actively involved in program activities. THED program instructors include senior graduate students and faculty of the Joint Graduate Program in Toxicology. Program Information: Dates Session 1: July 20 - 24 Session 2: July 27 - 31 Time 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM Location Rutgers Busch Campus - Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, Piscataway, NJ Cost $750 Includes tuition, instructional manuals, materials, safety equipment, and all laboratory supplies This program is competitive and limited to 24 students per session.
