NYT SYNDICATE
A
SKED to describe her dense, politi-cally charged, time-jumping and ac-tion-packed Syfy series Continuum,
Rachel Nichols helpfully offers to
give both a short answer and a long
answer.
“When I give people the really short logline,
it’s ‘I’m a cop from the future fighting criminals
from the future in the present day,’’’ she says
with a laugh, speaking by telephone from her
temporary home in Vancouver, British Colum-bia, on a rare day off. “That’s the quickest way to
say everything.’’
The long answer is well worth hearing,
though, for those haven’t yet seen the show
and-or for those interested in hearing Nichols’
perspective on it. The actress, best known for her
roles on Alias (2005-2006) and Criminal Minds
(2010-2011) and in the films Star Trek’ (2009),
G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra (2009) and Conan
the Barbarian (2011), stars on Continuum as
Kiera Cameron, the aforementioned cop from
the future.
“The longer explanation is that the show
starts in the year 2077,’’ Nichols says. “We’re
about to execute the eight most dangerous
criminals of the time, terrorists (a group called
Liber8), but, while they’ve been in prison,
they’ve assembled a time-travel device. I run
in to stop it, and I get stuck back in time with
them. Instead of going back five years, which is
all the criminals wanted – they just wanted to go
back to before they were in prison – we ended
up going back 65 years, to what is present-day
Vancouver.
“Kiera is the centre of the show,’’ the actress
says. “She is the glue that holds the future to-gether with the present, with 2012, and with all
of the characters. So she’s the central piece of
this multilayered, very character-heavy show,
which is great.
“The first season very much focused on the
idea that I came back in time,’’ she continues. “I
left my husband and my son in the future, so all
I want to do now is go home, but I’m faced with
the reality that a) I may not be able to get home,
and b) maybe there’s a reason why I’m here.
And, in order to stay sane in 2012 and continue
to fight the fight in 2012 that I was fighting in
2077, I have to tell myself that I’m here for a rea-son, and I have to find out what that reason is.’’
It should be noted that Continuum is a Cana-dian series that Syfy picked up and is airing in
the United States. The show wrapped its 10-epi-sode first-season run in Canada last year – hence
Nichols’ repeated references to 2012 – and
production started on Season 2 in late January,
Rachel Nichols in a scene from
Continuum.

COVER STORY
“Kiera is the centre
of the show,’’ the
actress says. “She is
the glue that holds
the future together
with the present, with
2012, and with all of
the characters. So
she’s the central piece
of this multilayered,
very character-heavy
show, which is great
with 13 episodes in the works.
Season 1 on Syfy will end in midMarch. That means that three episodes
remain: Playtime, Family Time and
Endgame.’ Nichols calls the latter two
hours “very big, very action-oriented,’’
and reveals that Endtime is a cliff-hanger.
“In 2077 Kiera believes in who she
is and what she’s doing, and that she’s
on the right side of good and bad,’’ Ni-chols says. “Then, when she’s in 2012,
there are a lot of questions she ends up
asking herself about the way Liber8 did
what they did. She’s thinking, given the
way things are in 2077, maybe they had
justifiable reasons for their actions.
“So there have been these com-plex moral issues for her through all
of Season 1 and, at the end, the last
scene, which I don’t want to give away,
we pose the biggest questions of the
season,’’ she says. “Were they sup-posed to be sent back 65 years? Was it
a mistake? Or was someone intending
to send them back much further than
they’d ever gone?
“Also, in the last two episodes,

and are forced to fight to the death.
“I love that stuff, and the foot-age I’ve seen of Zoe and myself looks
great,’’ Nichols says. “It’s really gritty
and it’s really gruesome, but it’s also
pretty cool. I know the film is done
and that they’re looking for theatrical
distribution, but I’ve been up here in
Canada, so I don’t know where they’re

you’re wondering how many other
people came back and landed in differ-ent times,’’ Nichols adds. “That’s the
beauty of the show, you get one ques-tion answered and five more pop up.’’
Up next for Nichols is Raze, a hor-ror film that she co-executive produced
with her close friend, director-co-pro-ducer Josh C Waller.
“That’s myself and Zoe Bell, who
is one of the best stuntwomen in the
world and is super-cool,’’ the actress
says. “It’s like Fight Club (1999) meets

Jack the Giant Slayer
made $13.7 million in
11 international territories

$41.7 million
Giant Slayer scares up
ho-hum $28mn US debut
AP
I
T wasn’t exactly a mighty
victory, but Jack the Giant
Slayer won the weekend at
the box office. The Warner
Bros 3-D action extravagan-za, based on the Jack and the Bean-stalk legend, made just $28 million
to debut at No 1, according to Sunday
studio estimates. It had a reported
budget of just under $200 million.
But the studio also hit a milestone
on the global front with Peter Jack-son’s fantasy epic The Hobbit: An
Unexpected Journey crossing the $1
billion mark worldwide. The first of
three films based on the classic JRR
Tolkien novel has made $301.1 do-mestically and $700 million interna-tionally.
Jack the Giant Slayer comes from
Bryan Singer, director of The Usual
Suspects and the first two X-Men
movies. It stars Nicholas Hoult, Ewan
McGregor, Ian McShane and Stanley
Tucci.
Among other new releases, the
college romp 21 & Over from Relativ-ity Media made only $9 million this
weekend to open in third place. And
the horror sequel The Last Exorcism
Part II from CBS Films debuted in
fourth place with just over $8 million.
Jeff Goldstein, Warner Bros’
executive vice president of theatri-cal distribution, said Jack the Giant
Slayer opened lower than the studio

had hoped, but he’s encouraged by
its CinemaScore, which was a B-plus
overall and an A among viewers un-der 18. One bit of good news for Jack
is that it had a 56-percent uptick from
Friday to Saturday, suggesting strong
word-of-mouth and more family au-diences for the PG-13 adventure.
“That tells us that the audiences
that are seeing it really do like it,”
Goldstein said. “The international
opening in Asia has been very strong
— the 3-D component of the special
effects works in a big way outside the
domestic marketplace.”
Jack the Giant Slayer made $13.7
million in 11 international territories
for a worldwide total of $41.7 million.
Internationally, A Good Day to Die
Hard, the fifth film in the blockbuster
Bruce Willis franchise, was the big
winner of the weekend with $18.3
million for a global total of nearly
$222 million.
Domestically, this is the sixth
weekend in a row that movie ticket
sales are down, said Paul Derga-rabedian, box-office analyst for Holly-wood.com. He pointed out that many
of the action pictures aimed at men
this year — including Snitch, The Last
Stand, Bullet to the Head and Parker
— have been disappointments at the
box office.
“Other films have done OK but we
need to do better than OK to keep up
with last year’s pace,” he said. “Where
is the audience? I don’t want to over-state this, but where are the guys?”
Among the few bright spots, the
Jason Bateman-Melissa McCarthy
comedy Identity Thief has become
the first film to cross the $100 mil-lion mark this year. Now in its fourth
week in theatres, the Universal movie
has made $107.4 million.
“This is a tough marketplace right
now. Everything is underperforming,”
Dergarabedian said. “There hasn’t
been a huge breakout hit yet. For
every Identity Thief there have prob-ably been 10 other films that have
underperformed.”
Meanwhile, winners at last week-end’s Academy Awards, including
Argo, Silver Linings Playbook and
Life of Pi, are still sticking around
in the top 20 after several months in
theatres, further underscoring the
weakness of recent new releases.
But Dergarabedian was optimistic
that things will turn around with the
opening next week of Disney’s
Oz the Great and Powerful, a muchanticipated prequel to The Wizard
of Oz starring James Franco and di-rected by Sam Raimi. It’s expected
to open in the $75-100 million
range.
“We need the cavalry to arrive
and we need them soon,” he said.
“Maybe James Franco is the cavalry.”

HE skill and elegance of acclaimed
artistes like Elton John and
Miguel Bose was on display at the
54th Vina del Mar International Song
Festival.
The Argentine band Los Autenticos
Decadentes rang down the curtain Fri-day in a partying mood on the evening
before the wrap up of the five-day event,
which also featured Mexico’s Gloria
Trevi and Spain’s Pablo Alboran.
But the first to take the stage were
Wisin & Yandel, whose reggaeton and
sensuality heated up the scene at the
Quinta Vergara Amphitheater.
After their last performance here in
2008, the Puerto Rican duo returned to
a festival that in recent years has estab--
lished reggaeton as one of the entrees on
its menu, and which this year was repre-sented by Daddy Yankee.
Spain’s Miguel Bose also made a big
impression in his ninth appearance at
the festival with his duets with Pablo
Alboran and with the Chilean Francisca
Valenzuela.
But without a doubt, and in this all
the experts agree, if this year’s festival
is remembered for anything it will be
for the fleeting appearance of British
pop star Elton John, already rated as
one of the best concerts in the history
of the festival. John, who on Thursday
was scarcely nine hours in the country,
ran through a crowd-enthralling sample
of his best classics concentrated into
just 80 minutes, and showed why he is
already a legend.
Kidman says she
discusses what-ever roles are offered to
her with husband Keith
Urban because her
family is more impor-tant than anything else.
“When I’m offered a
role, I literally say, ‘Is
this going to work for
our family?’ And I ask
Keith about it and there
have been times when
he said ‘no’ and I’ve not
done it, and there have
been times when he’s
said ‘yes’ and we make
it work,” Radio Times
magazine quoted Kid-man as saying.
The two are married
for the past six years
and they have two
daughters - Sunday,
four and Faith, two.
“And I’m absolutely
fine with that because I
want my children and
I want my marriage
more than I want any-thing else. So it’s really
simple,” she added.

filming with her fellow judges during the
first round of auditions in New Orleans.
The busy single mother of four will
join judges Howard Stern,Howie Man-del and Melanie Brown.
Former Spice Girl Brown was recently
announced as the replacement judge

Halle Berry in For X-Men: Days
Of Future Past
AFTER months of speculation regarding
whether Halle Berry will reprise her role
as Storm in the upcoming X-Men: Days of
Future Past, the actress tells Access Holly-wood she’s in.
“I’m in. I think I’m in,” the actress told
AccessHollywood.com’s Laura Saltman,
when asked if she is 100 percent going to
appear in the Bryan Singer-directed Marvel
mutant movie, at the junket for her new
thriller, The Call, in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Out of the dozens of characters the
Oscar-winning actress has played, Halle
said mutant Storm/Ororo Munroe is one
of her all-time
favourites.
“I am excited,
yeah,” she said,
when asked if
she’s looking for-ward to donning
her superhero
duds again. “I
love Storm. That’s
one of my favour-ite characters
Halle Berry
that I’ve played.
And people love that character as well.”
While playing the cloudy-eyed, weath-er-controlling mutant requires quite a bit
of time in the makeup chair, Halle said
no role could be more exhausting in the
physical transformation department than
her recent reincarnation film alongside
Tom Hanks.
“After Cloud Atlas any makeup job is a
breeze. A breeze!” she said with a laugh.
Halle joins a long roster of stars re-turning to the X-Men franchise for Days
of Future Past (due to hit theatres on July
18, 2014) including Hugh Jackman, Anna
Paquin, Ellen Page, Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian
McKellen, James McAvoy, Jennifer Law-rence and more.
The Call - starring Halle, Abigail Breslin
and Morris Chestnut - hits theatres on
March 15.

Aatma will redefine
horror genre: Suparn

The film does not have the usual
ugly, melting face or weird cam-era angles to scare the audience
out of their wits and will definitely

IANS
D
IRECTOR Suparn Verma promises that his upcoming
horror film Aatma will go beyond the same canned plot
and will tap into the audiences’ deepest fears.
“I am not experimenting with Aatma but redefining the
genre completely. I want to set a standard. It is not tacky, I
don’t want to make a film and be apologetic about it, either as
audience or as a maker,” Suparn said.
The 38-year-old journalist-turned-filmmaker says the film
does not have the usual ugly, melting face or weird camera
angles to scare the audience out of their wits and will defi-nitely make them sit up.
“Aatma will break the norm of the usual haunted film,
which has a haunted house, an old wandering spirit. We have
seen that time and again, what is new in it? The audience is
waiting, they are exposed to world cinema and so you need to
have an international level horror film in this country.
“You don’t have ugly, melting faces and the camera going
in weird directions. I have made sure that this is the best pos-sible horror film I ever make,” Suparn said.
Aatma stars Bipasha Basu as a single mother and Na-wazuddin Siddiqui as her husband, who comes to take away
their daughter after his death.
“The film is a supernatural drama, which is grounded in
emotions. It takes a family scenario which is very real - two
parents going through a bad patch and the kid is caught in be-tween. Now, I took the real life situation which is emotionally
dramatic and put it in a supernatural framework. And that is
something that will make everybody sit up,” he added.

“It’s absolutely thrilling to

Smoothing the frictions
between parent and nanny
NYT SYNDICATE
“It’s a complicated
relationship, but it
doesn’t have to be,”
she said of the bond
between nanny and
child. She believes
each family should
have what she calls
a house book, a
document like the
kind she had Van Der
Beek draw up
Lindsay Heller
I
T wasn’t that Kimberly Van Der
Beek’s new nanny was unquali-fied. She had come with sparkling
references and a gold-star recom-mendation from her agency. She
knew three languages and had philoso-phies about child development. She was
nice and prompt and had an excellent
driving record.
Still, Van Der Beek, the wife of the ac-tor James Van Der Beek and a parenting
blogger, noticed that when she entered
the room, the nanny was often just
getting off the phone. And though the
nanny was doing a good job with the Van
Der Beeks’ seven-month-old son, Josh-ua, there was some tension with their
two-year-old daughter, Olivia, Kimberly
Van Der Beek thought.
And so it came to pass that on a rainy
morning not long ago, a black Volkswa-gen Beetle with the licence plate Nanny
Dr drove up to the Van Der Beeks’ Holly-wood Hills home. Van Der Beek ushered
its occupant, a woman named Lindsay
Heller, up the back stairs of the house,
sat across from her on a couch and began
a list of concerns and questions.
“She’s very emotionally invested in
my kids,” she told Heller. “I just don’t
know if she has passion about Olivia.”
She went on. “She lets Joshua just
lie on the floor while she’s drinking her
tea. Put some pep in that step. Put the
tea down.” She leaned back and sighed.
“I just find that if I’m around, I’m the
one taking care of the kids. I like to be
preventive about things. If Olivia wakes
up from her nap at four, I’d like to know
that there’s a snack ready. There never
is.”
Heller listened. “I wonder how much
she knows about what your approach is
and what you like,” she said.
Van Der Beek considered this. “I
haven’t been very clear in my approach,
I guess,” she said. “We’ve had conversa-tions about philosophies, but not really
about what I expect her to do.”
“Very often, a new nanny feels meek
and doesn’t want to ask too many ques-tions,” Heller said. “She might not want
to bother you.”
And Van Der Beek’s feeling that she
must take charge of her own children
when the nanny is around?
“You need your own process, to learn
how to separate,” Heller said. “There’s
something really powerful to a clean
goodbye. You have to get used to saying,
‘In five minutes, Mommy’s going to
work.’ When you shut the door,
Lindsay Heller (right) with client Kimberly Van Der Beek.
shut the door. It’s good for both of you.”
After an hour, a plan was in place.
Van Der Beek was to draw up a docu-ment detailing her priorities for her
children; her preferences for their activi-ties; protocols for waking, sleeping, and
eating; and tasks that aren’t child-related
that she’d like the nanny to do.
“I’ve never really managed people,”
Van Der Beek said. “This is all new to
me. I need to get better at this.”
Heller, or the Nanny Doctor, as she
calls herself (she has a PhD in clinical
psychology from the California School
of Professional Psychology), is a con-sultant for an age of anxious parenting,
acting as a mediator of sorts for parent
and caretaker, at a rate of $200 an hour.
She draws from her experiences both as
a mother to two daughters under three
(she is married to Matt Donnelly, a TV
writer) and as a former nanny to clients
like the director Stephen Gaghan and his
wife, Minnie Mortimer, a fashion de-signer and socialite.
“I remember her solving a conflict
with the kids, who were five and six,”
Mortimer said. “She had them calm
down and use their ‘I’ statements. Our
little girl said, ‘I don’t feel safe when you
throw a Lego at my head.’ Our boy said,
‘I feel that throwing a Lego at your head
is the only way to get your attention.’
She treated them with such respect and
dignity.”
Heller, 35, is also a therapist in
private practice with offices in Beverly
Hills, but she said she devotes half her
time to tasks that include hiring, firing
or training a nanny and intervening in a
troubled relationship.
One high-profile client, she said,
thought that the nanny had become too
enamoured with the perks of the parents’
lifestyle, demanding weekly massages
and a personal trainer. Another, an
actress, hired Heller to watch her new
nanny for several days to see whether the
child, who was considered difficult, was
responding. A producer once hired her,
she said, to intervene with an actress on
set who was distracted by her nanny’s
behaviour.
Most of Heller’s fixes focus on reor-ganisation and communication. “It’s a
complicated relationship, but it doesn’t
have to be,” she said of the bond between
nanny and child. She believes each fam-ily should have what she calls a house
book, a document like the kind she had
Van Der Beek draw up.
Another nanny had been unceremo-niously let go just the day before, after
having watched two children since their
infancies. She was told she could put
them down for their naps, and that was
that. She wept while she spoke.
“Parents don’t always realise how im-portant the nanny relationship is to the
child,” said Heller, offering the nanny a
tissue. “They don’t realise that the child
needs a transition.”
As do parents, it seems. At one point
Heller spoke about her own woes with a
nanny who left to work for a neighbour
and now refuses to speak to her former
employer, even when they cross paths,
which is often. “It hurts,” Heller told the
group. “We cared about her and valued
her. I’m not sure what I did. She won’t
tell me, no matter how many times I’ve
asked.”

trimmed and cut into 1/2-inch wedges
1 bunch leeks (about 3), white and
light-green parts, cut crosswise into 1/2inch slices, cleaned
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon olive
oil
1/4 pound thinly sliced prosciutto
10 to 15 fresh sage leaves
Method
1. Preheat oven to 450 F. Remove
backbone from chicken. Flip chicken
breast side up. Press firmly on the
breastbone to flatten. Season both sides
with salt and pepper.
2. Place chicken on a rimmed bak-ing sheet. Toss together apple, fennel,
leeks and 2 tablespoons oil. Season with
salt and pepper. Scatter around chicken.
Cover chicken with prosciutto, overlap-ping slices and tucking edges under-neath. Toss sage leaves with remaining
1 teaspoon oil and scatter on top. Roast
until prosciutto is crisp, chicken is
cooked through (an instant-read ther-mometer registers 165 F) and vegetables
are tender and golden, about 30 minutes
to 40 minutes. Loosely tent chicken with
foil, and let rest 10 minutes before cut-ting into pieces.
Nutritional information per

(Serves 4)
ACTIVE TIME: 20 minutes.
TOTAL TIME: 1 hour 30 minutes.
Wednesday, March 6, 2013
Ingredients
2 packed tablespoons grated lime
zest, plus 1/4 cup juice (from 2 limes)
2 tablespoons finely grated peeled
fresh ginger
4 cloves garlic, finely grated
2 tablespoons packed light-brown
sugar
fine salt
1 can (13.5 ounces) coconut milk
1 whole chicken (3 1/2 to 4 pounds),
cut into 10 pieces
cooked jasmine rice, shredded carrot,
chopped peanuts, cilantro leaves, sliced
shallot and lime wedges, for serving
Ingredients
1 thick slice rustic sourdough bread,
cut into 3/4-inch cubes (2 cups)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
1 stalk celery, diced small
1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves or 2
teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme
1/2 to 2/3 cup chicken broth
salt and pepper
1 chicken (about 5 pounds)
Method
1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees
Fahrenheit. Bake bread in a single layer
until dry, about 5 minutes to 7 minutes.
Transfer to a large bowl. In a medium
skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
Add onion, garlic and celery, and cook,
stirring occasionally, until translucent,
about 5 minutes. Add thyme, and cook
until fragrant, about 1 minute. Stir into
bread, then stir in enough broth to make
mixture evenly moist but not wet. Sea-son with salt and pepper.
2. Pat chicken dry. Season inside and
out with salt and pepper. Stuff cavity,
tie legs together and tuck wings under-neath. Roast chicken until an instantread thermometer inserted into thickest
part of the thigh registers 165 F, about
1 hour (tent exposed stuffing with foil
if over-browning). Let rest 10 minutes
before serving.
Stuffing And Tying
1. Stuff the bird: Fill the cavity with
stuffing, but don’t pack it in tightly.
2. Tie the legs: Use kitchen twine to tie
the legs together; a bow is easy to
untie when the bird is done.
Nutritional information per serv-ing: 572 calories; 16 grams fat (6 grams
saturated fat); 86 grams protein; 16
grams carbohydrates; 1 gram fibre
Coconut-lime chicken
with Thai garnishes
(Serves 4)
ACTIVE TIME: 15 minutes.
TOTAL TIME: 50 minutes + marinat-ing.
Chicken parts are quick to cook and
simple to serve – no carving required.
Even better, they take on big flavour
when marinated. That means you
can streamline your day by prepping
Method
1. In a large glass bowl, combine
lime zest and juice, ginger, garlic, sugar
and 1 1/2 teaspoons salt. Slowly whisk
in coconut milk until mixture is smooth.
Submerge chicken in marinade, cover
and refrigerate for at least 4 and up to 12
hours.
2. Preheat oven to 475 F. Cover a
rimmed baking sheet with foil and
fit with a wire rack. Remove chicken
from marinade and shake to remove
excess. Arrange in a single layer on
rack, skin side up. Roast until an in-stant-read thermometer registers 165 F,
about 30 minutes to 35 minutes. Serve
with suggested accompaniments, if
desired.
Nutritional information per serv-ing: 464 calories; 29 grams fat (14
grams saturated fat); 42 grams protein;
7 grams carbohydrates; 1 gram fibre
Cutting Into Pieces
1. Remove legs: Cut through skin
between each breast and thigh. Pop
thighbone out of the socket. Cut leg
off.
2. Divide legs: Turn each leg skin side
down and cut along fat line through
joint to separate thigh from drum-stick.
3. Remove wings: Pull each wing to
expose joint; cut between joint and
breast to remove wing.
4. Remove breast: Use kitchen shears to
cut through the bone on either side
to separate breast from the back.
5. Divide breast: Use kitchen shears
to split breast. If desired, cut into
quarters.

Daniel not pressured
over launching movie
TRIBUNE NEWS NETWORK
W
Daniel Padilla
HILE many would think
that Daniel Padilla and
Kathryn Bernardo are
on pins and needles
now that they’re being
launched to full stardom via Must
Be…Love, the Kapamilya heartthrob is
not at all pressured over the upcoming
result of their first movie team-up.
“I am not nervous,” he unabash-edly said in Pilipino.
“Truthfully, I don’t think much of
what may happen because no matter
how nervous you get it will not affect
the result. I did what I could. All of us
here did everything we could.”
“I trust our supporters and that
makes me confident,” he
added. “I’ll just wait for
the result.”
Seemingly unaffected
by his tremendous suc-cess in the business,
Daniel credited his
parents for keeping
his feet on the ground
despite his immense
popularity.
“I feel that when
you start acting pomp-ous, that depends on
who you hang out with,
the people surrounding
you.”
He added, “the peo-ple around me are my
mum and dad ready to
tell me off.”
Like the other men in
the Padilla clan, Daniel
seems to be an incurable
romantic. In fact, for two
consecutive Valentine’s
Day, he has never failed
to impress his Must Be…
Love leading lady, Kath-ryn.
Last month, on Hearts
Day, Daniel shared, “we
did a movie marathon and
ordered a lot of pizza. We
hopped from one movie
house to another.”
But apparently, last
year’s celebration was more
romantic for the reel-life
couple. Daniel truly exerted
effort to impress Kathryn, pulling off
a big ‘surprise’ as “she didn’t know I
was there.” He said of his romantic
surprise, “that happened at our aunt’s
house....”
“She didn’t know I was going. I
said I had a meeting and couldn’t go.
When she got there, the lights were off
and there were plenty of (scattered)
rose petals. She dreamed of a candlelit dinner, that’s what I did,” the young
heartthrob revealed.
“We ate corned beef,” Kathryn
interjected.
Seemingly unaffected by
his tremendous success
in the business, Daniel
credited his parents for
keeping his feet on the
ground despite his
immense popularity

This is a marvelous day to do
research or behind-the-scenes
planning. Whatever you do will
bring you increased support from
others or will help you settle
disputes about shared property.
Discussions with someone older,
wiser or more experienced can
benefit you today. In fact, for
some of you, these discussions
will impact your life beliefs.
This is an excellent day to make
a proposal to an authority figure
(boss, teacher, parent or the
police). You’ll be careful and
realistic -- and won’t
overlook details.
This is a fantastic day for
study, whether it’s technical
information or philosophical
studies. It’s a good time to finish
writing a big project. You might
shift your belief about something.
Use today’s energy to wrap
up loose details regarding
inheritances, wills, estates,
taxes, debt and insurance
matters. Focus on shared
property. You’ll get a lot done!
Discussions with partners and
close friends can be wonderfully
productive today. This is a great
day to finish old business. It’s
also a good day for closure.

SCORPIO [oct 23 – nov 21]

Because your mind is focused
and patient enough to deal with
details, you can handle routine
work today. Furthermore, you have
the endurance to finish
whatever you begin.
You’ll make great headway
today in discussions about the
care and education of children.
Work related to entertainment
world, hospitality industry and
world of sports will be productive.
Family discussions about home
repairs or repairs to family
relationships will be productive
today. People are patient and
willing to listen. Your primary
focus is on practical results.
This is a great day for mental
work, especially mental work that
is boring or tedious. Today you
have the patience for this. (And
your concentration is excellent.)
Budget plans and cost-cutting
discussions will prove to be
profitable today. You want to
get the most bang for your
buck. If shopping, you want
practical, long-lasting items.
Romance with someone of a
different age might be taking
place for some of you. Or you
might be attracted to someone
in a position of authority today.

Movie review
NOTICE: Timings are subject to change without prior notice.
Parker
SET amidst the unparalleled wealth and glamour of Palm Beach, Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez team up to get their
cut in the crime thriller Parker based on the series of bestselling novels by Donald E Westlake. The film is directed by
Academy Award nominee Taylor Hackford (Ray) and also stars Michael Chiklis, Wendell Pierce (HBO’s The Wire) and
Academy Award nominee Nick Nolte. Jason Statham is game as usual, but Parker is a thoroughly generic and convoluted
heist movie.
