Frequently Asked Questions Q: How do we login to SchoolsWire to use the Editor ? When you start using SchoolsWire you will be given a Username and Password to access the Editor. Go to www.schoolswire.org​
and click on the link in the top right called “Schools Login Here”. You will be taken to a login page and you just have to enter your details. Q: Is it easy to use ? Yes, all you need to do is select a page from the drop down list and you can insert text and images in a matter of seconds. Q: Is it hard to make updates to the site ? Its easy. Simply select the page you wish to update from the drop down menu and you can re­type, add or remove anything you wish. Q: What keeps my website fresh ? We are constantly updating the system and adding features that you can use on your website for example; Twitter, and with our increasing library of themes you could have a different theme for every day of the week. Q: What is a theme ? Themes change the way the website looks, selecting a different one will change the background image and colour scheme of the website. It will have no effect on any data you have already entered or uploaded. Below are some examples; Q: How often can we change our theme ? When you’re in the Editor just select “Gallery” from the drop down menu that’s under “Alter my website”, then in the second dropdown that appears click “Add a new Gallery”. Q: How do we add images to the galleries ? When you’re in the Editor just select “Gallery” from the drop down that’s under “Alter my website”, select your gallery and press the “Choose Files” button along the right. Q: Can I upload a bulk of photos in one go ? Absolutely, simply click on upload and select all of the images you wish to add to your gallery. Q: What’s the size limit on files we want to upload to our galleries ? There is no limit on the size of the images you upload to your galleries, but any images will be resized automatically to 1024 pixels x 768 pixels if your uploaded image exceeds those dimensions. When it comes to the size of the actual file you are uploading, we do not put a cap on the size of your uploads. Q: Will my pictures be of good quality when I upload them ? Yes, as long as the pictures you upload are of good quality to begin with. SchoolsWire cannot increase the quality of an image but will also not decrease the quality of anything you wish to upload. Q: Will my school logo appear on the site ? You can easily upload your school logo with one click. It will then appear on every page of your website along with your school name. Q: Are you Ofsted compliant ? Not only is SchoolsWire compliant, but it is designed to meet Ofsted’s criteria to ensure you get an Outstanding rating during an inspection.
