Minutes from the business meeting on Friday, April 11, 2014 The minutes from last year’s business meeting were read and approved. Treasurer John Miller handed out a copy of the treasurer’s report. All 2013 AMATYC conference scholarships were used. The current balance of the checking account is $4,712.52. Treasurer’s report was approved. Elections: Suwimon Hall was nominated and elected president‐elect. Vicki Moser was nominated and elected for a one‐year term as treasurer. Amanda Kriesel was nominated and elected to be Secretary. The duties of the affiliate delegate for AMATYC were explained by Nicole Lang. Dale Johanson volunteered to be the affiliate delegate for AMATYC. The 2015 NEBMATYC conference will be hosted by Metro Community College in Omaha on either April 10th or April 17th. The final date will be chosen by an e‐mail vote. The chair will be Steven Reller. Institutional memberships for NEBMATYC were discussed and the idea was tabled until a later time. A motion to take the steps to achieve appropriate tax status for NEBMATYC was carried. Dale Johanson will continue to run the NEBMATYC Facebook page and webpage. AMATYC will fund a scholarship for the 2014 AMATYC national conference in Nashville, TN on Nov. 13‐
16th for someone who has never attended a national conference. The scholarship covers the cost of early registration for the conference. NEBMATYC will provide a second scholarship for a new attendee. This is intended to go to someone from Metro CC who has never attended the national conference. Applicants should contact Kathy Boehler. A motion was carried to donate $100 to the hospitality room at the 2014 AMATYC conference. A motion to adjourn was seconded and approved.
