Departments within Campus Services are responsible for delivering many of the day-to-day services that enhance the student
experience and benefit the Campus Community. Our aim is to provide services that complement the academic experience of
our students and improve the work environment for faculty, staff and student employees. There are seven departments that
make up Campus Services, they include:
BOOKSTORE
Located: Campus Center, Upper Level
The Bookstore carries textbooks, computers, electronics, clothing, cards, snacks, stamps and much more. Other important
features of the Bookstore include:
• Lounge and study space with wireless internet.
• Text rental program.
• Online textbook ordering.
• Ability to convert your Financial Aid Excess into a Bookstore Gift Card.
• Wide range of health and beauty offerings.
• Recently expanded UMass Boston clothing department.
• Dry Cleaning and Faxing services.
• Parking passes available.
CAMPUS CENTER

The Campus Center strives to create balance and provide support to three primary areas: Student Life and Student
Involvement, Student and University Services, and Event and Conference Services. Inside the Campus Center you’ll find:
• Student organizations, student activities and leadership programs.
• Meeting and lounge space with wireless internet access.
• Dining facilities, vending machines and ATM’s.
• Student employment opportunities, Information Desk and Gameroom.
• Departments and services from Academic Advising to the Registrar. Visit our website for a complete list.

DINING SERVICES

UMass Boston Dining provides an exciting and innovative dining services program for the entire UMass Boston community.
You’ll find great food, honest values, and a comfortable atmosphere in which to enjoy it all. You have a variety of venues to
choose from, all conveniently located within walking distance of classrooms, labs, offices and many off-campus apartments.
• Vending machines are located throughout campus. Visit McCormack (first floor) if you need a hot cup of coffee, hot
chocolate or tea after-hours.
• The SoGo Card is the campus wide meal program. This convenient declining balance card is accepted at all dining
outlets. If you are running low on funds, it can be refreshed on line.
• The five dining outlets on campus include:
o Food Court: Campus Center, First Floor
o Atrium Café: Campus Center, Upper Level
o McCormack Express: McCormack, First Floor
o Jazzman’s: Healey Library, Level 2
o Quinn Café: Quinn Building, Upper Level
MARINE OPERATIONS
Located: Service Building, Upper Level • www.umb.edu/umb/marineops
The Division of Marine Operations (DMO) partners with various governmental and non-governmental agencies to bring the
community to the harbor. DMO provides transportation to students, staff and faculty for various research and recreational
purposes on its fleet of vessels. They also provide dockage, mooring and training to boaters and sailors who wish to use our
facilities at Columbia Point.
• We have a variety of vessels that support ocean and marine research. Boats are used regularly for University
education, research and external organizations/schools.
• Experience a Harbor Cruise, every Monday from Noon-1:15 (June thru September).
• Learn to sail or kayak, call 617.287.5404 for more information.
PARKING AND TRANSPORTATION

The office of Parking and Transportation provides transportation services to students, faculty, staff and guests.
• Free Shuttle Service between the JFK station and the Campus Center.
o Shuttles run 7 days a week, hours vary. Please visit our website for more information.
• For those interested in driving to campus, consider purchasing a Parking Pass.
o Several parking pass options are available, saving you time and money.
o Parking passes allow you to search for parking, even when a lot is closed.
o Passes can be purchased at the Parking and Transportation Office and the Bookstore.
• There are more than 2,500 spaces available on campus, including 52 handicap spaces. You can view a map of
parking locations on our website.
o The daily parking rate is $6
• Students can buy discounted MBTA passes at the Student Life office located on the 3rd Floor of the Campus Center.
QUINN GRAPHICS

Fulfilling all your copy and printing needs, Quinn Graphics provides services to the entire University community. From basic
black and white copies and full color prints to professional quality posters, Quinn Graphics is here to assist you.
• Students, faculty and staff can submit printing requests on-line.
• Self serve copy machines are located throughout campus:
o Healey: 3rd & 4th floors
o McCormack: 2nd floor, across from the Beacon Fitness Center
o Campus Center: 2nd floor (Vending Machine Area)
RECYCLING AND SUSTAINABILITY

UMass Boston is an award-winning campus for sustainability and is one of 2011 Princeton Review’s 311 Greenest colleges in
the country.
• Recycle all your paper, bottles and cans, cardboard, e-waste and more. UMass Boston recycles more than 500,000
lbs of material a year.
• Become a zero-waste diner by composting all your food waste and dinnerware in our cafeteria.
• Use our Re- useable Cup discount and learn about organic, Fair Trade coffees and local foods at our cafeterias.
• Ride our eco-friendly hybrid buses and get green trip rewards by taking transit, carpooling, vanpooling and biking to
campus.
• Explore the campus bookstore’s eco-friendly supplies and beauty care products.
• Be inspired by our energy-efficiency, water conservation, green building design and green cleaning features in our
