Parking attendant (1-3) Responsibilities: Assist customers and volunteers find a spot in the parking lot. Directing traffic in and out of the lot. Be sure the areas in front of the loading dock, entrances and exits remain clear of parked cars. Sweep standing water into street gutters and lot drains. Regularly use broom and dustpan to pick up any trash in the parking lot. Sanitation Engineer (1-2) Responsibilities: Use the campus cleaning checklist to complete daily, weekly, or monthly projects. Assist in maintaining the appearance of the campus by picking up trash around the parking lot and different departments. There are __ trash cans on property to empty daily. Maintain the cleanliness of the campus bathrooms twice daily and stock them with necessary supplies whenever they are needed. Mop up spills and leaks around campus to prevent accidents. Mop the Crisis Center floor every day, if filling in the 3pm-6pm shift. Clean up beneath the dumpster by the loading dock as necessary. Use rags and wipes to clean any portion of the store, concentrating on those areas susceptible to high human contact (i.e. door handles) or traffic. Work with processing team to unload and price incoming stock. During slow times take initiative to clean aisles to include sweeping floors, picking up discarded items, empty carts. Assist in unloading shipments from trucks. Maintain consistent safety practices when working in the warehouse. Bagger and Grocery/Cart Runner (1-2 at each register) Responsibilities: Assist the cashiers by bagging groceries for clients as they go through the checkout line. o Double bag any heavy or bulky items. o Heavier items at the bottom of bags. Softer items, like bread or flowers, on top or separate. Offer to assist clients to their cars with their groceries. Do not accept gratuity. Retrieve carts in the parking lot and return them to the front entrance. Periodically take broom and dustpan and sweep up items in parking lot or grassy areas. During slow times be willing to clean aisles including sweeping floors, dusting, and general maintenance. Take trash to outside compactor. Wipe down thrift bathroom and changing room. Empty the trash regularly. Pick one small area of the store and organize it as best you can. Donation Inventory Associate (2-5) Responsibilities: Inventory new product arrivals and price clothing and household items. Assist donors to and from their vehicles with incoming donations. Unpack donations, check for damage, and hang clothing on clear hangers only. Sort clothes by size first, and then color. Prep for retail associates to put on the floor. Crisis Center Job Descriptions Crisis Center Data Entry Assistant (1) Responsibilities: Complete all data entry necessary for the upkeep of CFOC Crisis Center records. Welcome Desk Greeter (1-3) Responsibilities: Welcome people into the Crisis Center and sign them in. Be able to explain the services offered to clients. Be able to use a fax machine to send client information to the Department of Children and Families. Keep entry way and glass doors clean. Regularly check on clinic area bathroom and keep trash empty. Pantry Worker (1-3) Responsibilities: Assist with stocking and processing emergency food bags in the pantry. Sort through donations and stock the shelves. Maintain an orderly walking area by removing cans, boxes and bags from the floor. Keep a running list of supplies that are low in the pantry on the back of the warehouse door. Computer Lab Monitor (1-2) Responsibilities: Assist individuals with computer management of their DCF claims and account. Teaching Assistant (1) Responsibilities: Sign up clients for classes. Coordinate and schedule classes with our teacher volunteers. Organize books in the classroom after classes, and especially the Read and Feed Program. Assist the Education Coordinator with anything else he/she might need as assigned. Keep posted list of education offerings up to date. General Qualifications: Must be 18-years-old or above. Strong reading and computer skills are required including internet; will need to complete online training program during first week of volunteering for the Crisis Center Assistant and Computer Monitor positions.
