For PE credit or just for fun, COE offers over 130
different courses in a wide range of outdoor disciplines.
Instruction in rock climbing, backpacking, sea kayaking,
caving, whitewater kayaking, tree climbing, mountain
biking and much more. No experience necessary for
most courses.

Running pre-orientation trips since 1972, Outdoor
Odyssey is an all student run organization and an
integral part of COE. Four and six day trips are offered
just before the university’s orientation in August for

Come climbing on the largest indoor natural surface
rock wall in North America, the Lindseth Climbing wall
is over 4800 square feet of climbing wall located in
Bartels Hall. Also available is the Kay 2 Bouldering Wall
bouldering wall.
