With Thomson Gale PowerSearch’s crosssearch capabilities, users can now access the
rich depth and scope of all the Thomson
Gale content in your library’s collection by
exploring one, several or all available databases simultaneously — while managing
results effectively.
MORE RESULTS IN LESS TIME
When a search is conducted, Thomson Gale
PowerSearch simplifies navigation with a
“breadcrumb trail” that shows a path that
the search has taken and lets the user easily
return to any previous step. Any page can
be quickly accessed using tabs found on
the navigation bar directly below the title
banner. Helpful toolbar buttons, such as
Dictionary and Title Lists, are available at
the top of every page.
A Basic Search allows users to search for words by subject, keyword or entire
article content. Limiter options are also available to further narrow a search

Not sure what type of information is available in a particular database? Thomson
Gale PowerSearch makes it easy for users
to select the databases most appropriate to
include in a cross-search, by providing an
alphabetical listing of databases along with
product descriptions. Currently, Thomson
Gale’s most popular periodical and reference databases can be included in a crosssearch, with additional databases available
in the future.
NAVIGATE WITH EASE
Thomson Gale PowerSearch offers many
search options to find the right information
— whether users wish to enter one or two
keywords, search using pre-defined subject
terms or construct complex search queries
using Boolean logic. Below the search entry
box, users will find more search options,
where users can limit their results to documents with full text, peer-reviewed publications and/or documents with images. In
addition, users can also limit their queries
by publication and publication date. The
database from which each document is
found will appear as part of the search
results.
Search multiple database collections quickly and efficiently with a single
query. Users can select one or more databases for their search, or Select All,
which searches through all of the library’s available databases
