Professor Belo is a fantastic professor. He communicates the material clearly and is always willing to answer
questions. He is also very responsive (he graded the midterm and distributed grades on the same day.) The
exams, while challenging, are exactly as expected by the practice exams.
LEC
Lectures were not extremely engaging. However, the professor is extremely passionate about helping students
learn, which readily showed. He was very accessible and tried his best to help us, which we appreciated.
He clearly articulates the content for the course and has been very helpful outside class. The workload is
reasonable as it encourages the students to study and understand but while it does not add too much stress to the
students.
This was a fantastic course taught by a fantastic professor. I appreciated that there was no required text book, as
lectures and supplementary lectures provided more than enough material. Professor Belo is extremely accessible
and willing to meet outside of class hours, and his explanations are very clear. I can't express enough in words
how much I enjoyed attending the class and the professor's lectures. I'm sad that the professor's stay at Penn
lasts only one semester, but I wish him nothing but the best in the future.
Prof Belo explains everything very very clearly and he is always very helpful. Whenever I have questions he emails
me back very quickly and his emails usually help a lot. He is very dedicated to teaching, always accessible and
willing to talk to students. Overall I think he is a great professor!
This was a good introduction course, and it helped put certain mathematical methods into context. I feel though as
such a course, all the requisite material should be taught so that for those who do wish to pursue finance might be
able to get a better feel for all that finance has to offer. At these levels, I feel the need for proof and rigor would
possibly be more effective. Overall, it was a very good course.

Great teacher. Really knows his material.
LEC
Prof. Belo is extremely knowledgeable and keen about the subject. He leads discussions that engage the whole
class to participate and makes the class a truly open learning environment. He is also one of the most helpful
professor I've met in Wharton.
Really great professor. Really cared if students learned the material. Spent the time to answer each and every
question. Exams and grading were very fair.
Really great professor. One of the best Core classses I've taken. Really cares about his students
professor belo was very fun, helpful, and engaging. he answered all of my questions, including purposely
hard/philosophical ones.
Professor Belo was enthusiastic, learned everyone's names very quickly, and always made time to meet with
students.
Professor Belo is excellent. He explains everything in detail, is extremely nice, and obviously cares about his
students. For instance, starting about three days before the midterm, he held office hours every afternoon for the
entire afternoon. While we learned a lot and covered a lot of material, the class required very little work. Every
week we had problem sets that took only about an hour and were graded just on effort. The first exam was very
reasonable. I wish Professor Belo would stay at Wharton and not go back to Minnesota.
Belo was great. Really tried to help you understand where all the formulas and rationale come from.
Professor Belo teaches the material very meticulously, making sure his students have a solid grasp of the concepts
before moving forward. Thus, I never felt "lost" in that class. In addition, his lectures are thorough enough that I
did not need to consult any outside books or sources.
Professor Belo repeated his coursepack word-for-word in every lecture.

Excellent Professor. Great material and not too difficult.
LEC
Excellent course and instructor. Prof Belo really cares about students learning the material.
It was a great course that gave a really good broad view of corporate finance. The exams were harder than the
regular sections, but I think it led to a deeper understanding.
I learned a good deal in this course but at times the material seemed very dry and boring.
Professor Belo is one of the most engaging and helpful professors I have had at Penn. Although he was a visiting
professor, he did all he could to make sure to follow the curriculum and carefully outline the notes. Although his
lectures were sometimes dry, they did a good job covering the material and he made himself available after
lecture and during office hours. He was compassionate and genuinely cared about educating the class. I sincerely
hope that he continues to stay and work at Wharton.
Professor Belo was an extremely clear teacher who genuinely cared about students and was very accessible,
especially around exams. I know many students who thought a visiting professor teaching the honors sections
would not be up to par but these same students, myself included, were blown away by Professor Belo. I especially
enjoyed his willingness to comment on how well/poorly the rather theoretical material held up in the real world.
Great course to introduce the fundamentals of financial decision making. I greatly enjoyed Professor Belo's
teaching style, which utilized boardwork, real-life examples, and a bit of humor. The board work was especially
helpful - it allowed me to learn the material in real time, instead of having to go back and review powerpoint slides
that were hastily introduced in class (as is the norm in other Wharton classes). Overall very well done.
The course itself is very interesting and Professor Belo was great in providing lots of examples to make sure that
students understood the material.
Instructor is very approachable
Professor Belo is amazing - he helped me realize how interesting Finance is, and now I have no doubts that I will
concentrate in Finance. He communicated the material extremely effectively, and he is a genuinely nice and funny
guy! We need more professors like him at Wharton!
