NHH’s activities can be divided into the following areas: - NHH is to offer higher education within the fields of economics and business administration based on leading research within these fields; - NHH is to carry out research with a particular national responsibility for basic research and training of researchers within these fields; -NHH is to convey knowledge about its activities and further the understanding in society of the scientific methods and results within the fields of economics and business administration; -NHH is to offer or organise continuing/advanced courses within economics and business administration. Location and facilities: NHHs main building is located on a hill with a view over the fjord leading into the city of Bergen, “Byfjorden”. 2/3 of the institutions area is located on this hill. At sea-level we have the Merino-building, where you’ll find study-halls and auditoriums. NHH has teaching-rooms in most of the buildings which are modern and well equipped. In addition there are many group-rooms at the students’ disposal. There are approximately 1500 places available to the students in the form of study-halls and computer work-places. In addition you’ll find the library, which has Norway's most comprehensive business and management library collection, as well as the book-store and cafeterias. At NHH everything is nearby. Courses: Exchange students may choose courses from the BSc in Economics and Business Administration (only a limited number of courses in English) and/or from the MSc in Economics and Business Administration. Credits: NHH uses ECTS credits. All courses constitute 7,5 ECTS credits. A full work-load for one semester is 30 ECTS credits (4 courses). Grading scale: NHH uses the ECTS grading scale (A - F, where E is the lowest passing grade) Academic Calendar 2008/2009: Fall semester: 11 August - 19 December 2008 Spring semester: 5 January - 12 June 2009 (spring dates subject to change) Orientation: Mandatory “welcome-week” with important information-meetings is arranged the week before lectures start, every semester (included in the dates above). A variety of social activities will take place during this week. Housing: NHH reserves housing for all incoming exchange students at Hatleberg student dormitory, which is located only a couple of minutes in walking-distance from NHH.
