You can find the Sequence and Structure on the ACAP website under course guides. You can find these at: http://www.acap.edu.au/currentstudents/course-guides/ • Access to your online class space, course materials, and discussion boards • Read important news relevant to your location and mode of study What is the difference between the modes of study? • Enrol into units each trimester On-Campus • Access your ACAP email • Attend weekly 3 hour classes (4 hours for psychology students) or equivalent hours for weekend classes • Update your personal details • Access your academic results • Highly dynamic and interactive Where are my login details? • Opportunity to practise your skills Your login details to access the online student portal are sent to you via email. There are student ‘How to Guides’ available to take you through all the key functions of the online student portal. You can find these at the following link: http://www.acap.edu.au/currentstudents/it-acap/ Manage my enrolment What units am I enrolled in? Once you have logged into the online student portal you will be able to access ‘My Enrolment’. As this is your first trimester you have already been enrolled into your units. What is a full-time or part-time study load? A full-time load is 3 units whether you are studying by Online Delivery or On-Campus. (or 2 units if studying the Graduate Diploma of Counselling). A part-time load is 1–2 units whether you are studying by Online Delivery or On-Campus. Each unit requires 9–12 hours of study per unit per week (including time in class). It is not recommended for students to undertake a full-time load if working full-time. Can I gain credit for studies I have completed? You may be eligible to have your past studies and/or work experience credited towards your course. This means that you could be exempt from some of the units listed in your course sequence guide and be able to complete your course in a shorter period of time. Please note: you must be an enrolled student with ACAP before you can apply for Credit. For further information, view the full Credit Arrangements Policy at: http://www.acap.edu.au/current-students/ managing-my-course/a-z-policies/ If I’m studying on campus where do I find my timetable? Class timetables are updated throughout the year as classes are finalised. Students are advised to use the timetable and the yearly planner as a tool to plan their enrolment each trimester, and for the coming year. You can find class timetables here: http://www.acap.edu.au/current-students/ managing-my-course/class-timetables/ • Practise your skills at the compulsory on-campus workshops (required for certain units). Further information about workshop dates can be found at the following link: http://acap.edu.au/current-students/ managing-my-course/class-timetables • Need a reliable internet connection and computer literacy to write and submit assignments. You will also need speakers and a microphone to participate in the online tutorials). Ideally students should log in using a Desktop or Notebook. (Tablets and phones may be limited in functionality for on-line learning systems) Blended delivery • Throughout the trimester, students in blended delivery units are required to undertake activities, assessment, and self-study through the online class space as well as attend on campus as well as real time (synchronous) online sessions which are programmed regularly throughout the trimester. • Dates for on-campus and synchronous online commitments are available in advance so students can plan their commitments around attendance requirements. • Each course may have different on-campus requirements and specific information is available on the website. If you are enrolled in a course offered by multiple delivery modes you can change your mode of study each trimester to suit your circumstances or to suit the nature of the unit. However, you cannot change the study mode of the unit mid-way through the trimester. What is the Online Class Space?
