Spend a week in June, all expenses paid, at the nationally recognized Emory University. Learn about diverse careers in accounting. You will live in a residence hall; meet faculty, business professionals and other students interested in accounting; attend hands-on workshops; and take field trips to local Atlanta companies; make new friends, become familiar with the amazing Emory University and start thinking about how a degree in accounting can really add up. You will participate in fun team building and evening activities, workshops about communication skills, etiquette, and career development as well as focused business sessions taught by Emory faculty and business professionals. Students also work on a group project. Who? ACAP is a week long residency program hosted by Emory University. All minority Metro Atlanta high school sophmores, juniors or seniors are encouraged to apply. Why? What is accounting anyway? You can be a: Chief Financial Officer-Heard of a CEO? Be a CFO! Run the company from the financial standpoint. Environmental Accountant-address the issue of how companies can be both profitable and environmental. Forensic Accountant-identify and track fraud. E-Commerce Strategist-become knowledgeable of internet regulations and market ecommerce initiatives. Stars in the entertainment industry need someone to manage their accounts. Large and small companies need accountants. What do I need to apply?
