SCOPES OF APPLICATION

Reservation of parking spaces and entrances: reserve access to certain spaces and to certain zones only for
authorised persons and vehicles (parking spaces, private residences, delivery areas, security guards …).

Management and control of town traffic: limit access to certain zones (bus routes, pedestrian areas) in the
framework of urban traffic while guaranteeing pedestrian freedom and without damaging the environmental features.

Protection of buildings against all attacks of the "car-in-wall" type: guarantee the security of vulnerable sites
(embassies, luxury stores, administration buildings…).
CONTROL UNIT
The technical control unit is the bollard’s indispensable control instrument. It contains all automation components necessary for
operating the bollard.
The technical unit can control several bollards simultaneously or individually. How the control unit is made up thus depends on the
general configuration of the system and the chosen options (number of managed entries, signalling lights, operating mode, clock,
etc…).
According to the topography of the site, the unit can be offset:
- in a wall box, the size of which varies depending on the system characteristics (number and type of bollards)
- in an external terminal made out of anti-corrosion treated and painted steel, which allows for a good integration in the
urban environment
- in a totem that enables interface elements to be received on the front (badge reader, signalling lights, keyboards, etc…)

EXTRA SECURITY
DBT access control systems can be fitted with magnetic detection loops placed in front of and behind the bollard. They enable
the presence of a vehicle in range of the bollard to be detected so that it does not go back up whilst the vehicle is passing. What
is more, they enable an automatic rising and exit for the vehicle to be set.
The security whilst the bollard is in motion can also be reinforced by light and sound devices (luminous bollard head, signalling
lights, buzzer …).
There is also a device of automatic descent in case of absence of tension which, in emergencies, enables the way to be
freed for emergency vehicles.

Entry mechanism

The presence of a vehicle on loop B3 enables the activation of the radio receiver.

The user activates his radio transmitter and the bollard descends in order to free the way.

The presence of the vehicle on loops B2 and B3 stops the bollard from going back up.

As soon as the vehicle has passed loop B2, the bollard goes back up automatically.
Exit mechanism

The presence of a vehicle on loop B1 causes the bollard to descend automatically.

The presence of a vehicle on loops B2 and B3 stops the bollard from going back up. As soon as the vehicle has left loop B3,
the bollard goes back up in order to block the way once more.
Light management

When the bollard is in low position the light flashes yellow.

In all other cases it is red.

The hydraulic bollard is specially adapted to the management of
traffic flow in big towns and cities (bus routes, marketplaces) and
to the reservation of access (private residences …)

It is very suitable for intensive usage frequencies (more than 30
daily cycles).

Its weak sound level (the hydraulic pump is located in the frame
below ground level) ensures great discretion.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The cylinder of the bollard is made of treated and painted anticorrosion steel.

The cylinder thickness is 6mm.

The raising of the bollard is carried out via a hydraulic jack
system controlled by a pump enabling the bollard to rise again
automatically.

The hydraulic pump is situated in the body of the bollard. The oil
used is biodegradable.

The bollard powered via an electric cable, so there is no need to
perform any hydraulic installation.

The management system (in a wall box or in an external terminal)
must be situated a distance of 50 metres max. from the terminal.

Movement speed: rising 5s – lowering 2s.

Fixed caisson out of electrogalvanised sheet metal.

Load-bearing strength of class C250.

Shock resistance:
 Operating limit: 9,000 joules. Until this force is reached the
bollard continues operating normally after the shock.
 Breaking limit: 120,000 joules. Up until this force the bollard
can no longer operate but remains in place. Beyond this force
the bollard will break.

is specially adapted for the



The pneumatic bollard
is specially adapted for access
reservation (delivery areas, security guard entrances …) and
parking spaces.

It is very suitable for classic usage frequencies (less than 30
cycles a day).

The air compressor is located in the control centre so as to be
able to keep the sound level to a minimum.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The cylinder is made of anti-corrosion treated and painted steel.

The thickness of the cylinder is 4mm.

The raising of the bollard is carried out thanks to a pneumatic
jack system controlled by an offset compressor enabling the
bollard to go back up automatically.

The bollard is powered by 2 air hoses only (no electrical
connection with the bollard).

The control unit (in a wall box or in an external terminal) must be
located a maximum distance of 10 metres from the bollard.

Movement speed: rising in 7s – lowering in 5s.


The electric motor which enables the bollard to be put in motion

Fixed bollard

The semi-automatic bollard is specially adapted for the
reservation of parking spaces and sites without an electric
network.
Opening procedure of semi-automatic bollard:
 Turn the key for the unblocking control.
 Lower the bollard by exerting a light pressure downwards until
the lock-out system is launched.
 The semi-automatic bollard then stays in low position and
frees access to traffic.
Closing procedure of semi-automatic bollard:
 Turn the key for the lock control.
 The bollard rises automatically thanks to its integrated gas
actuator.
 The bollard locks in high position and stops vehicles from
passing.

The fixed bollard enables the completion of an installation whilst
keeping the same design as our hydraulic, high-resistance,
pneumatic and semi-automatic bollards.

The cylinder is made of anti-corrosion treated and painted steel.

Cylinder thickness: 6mm for standard version, 4mm for
economical version.

The semi-automatic rising of the bollard body is carried out
thanks to a gas cylinder enabling it to go up again automatically.


CENTRAL TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT
The various bollards solutions we offer can work independently, but they can be wired to technical
management centres. This allows to manage a 24 h telesurveillance system: all DBT bollards can be
linked to an access control management centre.
The central supervision of such local management centres is handled by the UBIcus software suite
published by IPROCESS.
MAIN FUNCTIONS
Connecting the bollards to a GTC (central technical management) provide real time status of the bollards (high or low position),
alarm statuses (damaged plot, motor failure …) and to steer the bollards remotely by sending raise or descent orders or operating
instructions from the technical centre.
The interoperability of the UBIcus software suite with many systems allows to manage all the city and videosurveillance
equipment of a single site with the same interface and in a co-ordinated manner.

The configuration of the site to be secured is fully settable and changeable by the system administrator, without any
intervention by the software publisher : addition, deletion, equipment, plan, operating station, user and access right

Operators and administrators in charge of your site security will appreciate the advanced operating functions designed for
their trade : intuitive graphical interfaces, interactive and animated synoptics, programmable events and scenarios,

EVENT PROGRAMMING
The system behaviour can be adapted to the security strategy desired by the operator by changing the operation rule
base.
Such operating rules are made up by a set of conditions (presence of alarms, time conditions, variable values…) whose
combination will cause the triggering of programmed actions (secure operation, forced operation …).

Owing to the services available on high speed digital networks, the UBIcus software suite published by IProcess is used to
develop an open and communicating supervision solution for the most demanding users who want to keep remote control
over their system in any place and at all times.

management systems and equipment.
