In this catalogue we have given priority to the English language because you - as a Manager of tomorrow – will be in need of English in different situations. Additionally many of our colleagues from our partner universities will conatct you in English with further information on your stay abroad. We did try to arrange the information of each partner institution in the same way but in some rare cases there may occur that some information is missing because the information was not given to us and could not be gained from the internet. The main part of the information comes from our partners through direct correspondence but in some cases also from their homepages. At this stage we want to thank all our partners for their help. Without it this catalogue would not have been possible. Due to the fact that deadlines will vary from year to year we ask you to keep in mind that the given ones are only guidelines. The change of deadlines by the partner universities will usually be announced on their homepages and will surely be in the Welcome package that exchange students will receive from the partner university prior to their departure. The structure of the catalogue is divided into JOINT-STUDY and ERASMUS-programme partner universities. Within each programme section the partners are listed along countries (taking the country abbreviations from the ERASMUS Code) and along their locations in alphabetical order. You can also find each partner university in the table of contents. We hope that this catalogue can give an impression on the variety of our exchange partner universities and we do also hope that you will be successful in finding the most suitable university for your exchange semester/year! Renate Burian Traude Krausler The information given with each partner university means the following: Name of the partner university Name of the Faculty of the related exchange-programme if there exists an organizational structure with faculties Address Homepage address of the partner university Homepage address of the International Office and/or the faculty if applicable ERASMUS Code: Each ERASMUS partner university has an ERASMUS code. This is important because in nearly all forms that you will have to fill in you will be asked for it (also in the application form). Main language of instruction The courses will be taught in the indicated language. Other languages of instruction You can also follow courses in this additional language of instruction. If some courses will be offered in two languages students are usually allowed to choose the language they like. But usually the languages cannot be mixed. This means that you cannot take one course in English and the other one in French, for example. Level of study for exchange students Here you can see if the level of exchange is on Bachelor- or Master-level or both. Enrolment possible in one of the following programmes The choice of courses should be made from one of the indicated programmes. Period of exchange The student-exchange will be possible in the semester stated. Semester dates: The start and end dates of the semesters/ trimesters at the partner universities. Please check up carefully because some of the partners have very early semester start dates – earlier than at the University of Vienna, especially in the summer semester. Examination dates Information on the dates of the endexaminations. Orientation dates At the beginning of the winter semester (sometimes of the summer semester, too) there will be some orientation weeks or days where students will be informed about all the important things at the host university. Many of these orientations are compulsory and if you don’t show up there you will not be allowed to study at the partner university! Therefore: Please keep always in mind that you have to be present at the host university before the official semester start! Language preparation Here you can see if there will be offered a language course at the host university. Sometimes you will also find additional information like www-addresses. Application Deadline Usually, you have to make an extra application at the partner university after your nomination by the University of Vienna. This can be either with an application form (paper based or online) or with a direct application-procedure. The application deadline is the deadline until the application forms have to be received at the partner university or the online application should have been done, at the latest. Application requirements Information on the requirements for the application at the partner university; for instance, transcript of records and/or proof of language proficiency (different tests like TOEFL, IELTS, …) Course registration dates Deadline until the course registration has to be done.
