Joint - Study und Erasmus

Internationale Betriebswirtschaft/
Betriebswirtschaft
Dear students,
I am very pleased about your interest in one of the exchange programmes offered
by our school. Our faculty is an active supporter and promoter of international exchange
programmes and is involved in several international activities. We actively cooperate
with numerous partner universities all over the world.
There is a wide offer of exchange places within Europe and outside. All the different
countries can offer you something special. This information handbook has been established
to provide you with an overview of our partner universities and to help you making a choice.
This brochure also contains some more detailed information about the enrolment procedure
in these universities and helps to be well informed before you make your final decision.
I highly recommend taking part in an exchange programme. Our faculty will provide support
in all steps of your application and in the organization of your exchange stay.
The international experience will enrich your educational and personal development
and also increase your job opportunities. Thanks to an exchange programme abroad you
can master your foreign language skills, get access to a foreign culture, learn about
other university systems, discover new parts of the world, establish international contacts
and enhance your networks worldwide.
Therefore please get to know our partner universities and make a choice! I wish you
a successful application and a successful stay abroad!
Georg Pflug, dean
Dear colleagues,
Thank you very much for your interest in our exchange programs. Internationalization is an
important value at our school. Your stay at one of our partner institutions will contribute to
actually living this value. It will make you part of the large community of our outgoing and
incoming exchange students, which offers to all of its members a large potential for
creating international networks. Through this community, our school will become a vivid
center of international exchange.
Your stay abroad will also increase the value of your own education. The study programs
of our partner institutions complement the course program we are offering at our school.
In our era of globalization, pursuing part of your studies abroad not only provides you access to
additional courses. It will also help you to acquire the intercultural competencies and experiences,
which are an important success factor in any job and will help you in your future career.
Spending some time abroad has not only a professional, but also a personal dimension.
As I can tell you from personal experience, it will enrich your entire life and help you to gain
insights which you will not want to miss.
This booklet will help you to get a first overview of the study opportunities offered by our
partner institutions in Europe and beyond. In addition to the information you can find here,
we provide information on our home page and of course the staff in the international office
and I are available for personal consultation. Students who come back from their exchange
semesters will also be glad to share their experiences about studying abroad in general and
about the particular partner institutions where they have stayed.
I am convinced that the broad range of partner institutions covered in this booklet will
allow you to find an institution which fits your professional as well as personal interests. I
wish you much success in your application, and an interesting and successful stay abroad.

Impressum/Masthead
Dear Students,
on the following pages you will find basic information on the partner universities of the
Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics in the field of International Business and
Business.
In this catalogue we have given priority to the English language because you - as a Manager
of tomorrow – will be in need of English in different situations. Additionally many of our
colleagues from our partner universities will conatct you in English with further information
on your stay abroad.
We did try to arrange the information of each partner institution in the same way but in
some rare cases there may occur that some information is missing because the information
was not given to us and could not be gained from the internet. The main part of the
information comes from our partners through direct correspondence but in some cases
also from their homepages.
At this stage we want to thank all our partners for their help. Without it this catalogue
would not have been possible.
Due to the fact that deadlines will vary from year to year we ask you to keep in mind that
the given ones are only guidelines.
The change of deadlines by the partner universities will usually be announced on their
homepages and will surely be in the Welcome package that exchange students will receive
from the partner university prior to their departure. The structure of the catalogue is
divided into JOINT-STUDY and ERASMUS-programme partner universities. Within each
programme section the partners are listed along countries (taking the country
abbreviations from the ERASMUS Code) and along their locations in alphabetical order.
You can also find each partner university in the table of contents.
We hope that this catalogue can give an impression on the variety of our exchange
partner universities and we do also hope that you will be successful in finding the most
suitable university for your exchange semester/year!

Traude Krausler
The information given with each partner university means the following:
Name of the partner
university
Name of the Faculty of the related
exchange-programme if there exists an
organizational structure with faculties
Address
Homepage address of the partner university
Homepage address of the International Office
and/or the faculty if applicable
ERASMUS Code:
Each ERASMUS partner university has an ERASMUS code.
This is important because in nearly all forms that you will have
to fill in you will be asked for it (also in the application form).
Main language of instruction
The courses will be taught in the indicated
language.
Other languages of instruction
You can also follow courses in this additional language of instruction. If some courses
will be offered in two languages students
are usually allowed to choose the language
they like. But usually the languages cannot
be mixed. This means that you cannot take
one course in English and the other one in
French, for example.
Level of study for exchange students
Here you can see if the level of exchange is
on Bachelor- or Master-level or both.
Enrolment possible in one of the
following programmes
The choice of courses should be made from
one of the indicated programmes.
Period of exchange
The student-exchange will be possible in
the semester stated.
Semester dates:

Orientation dates
At the beginning of the winter semester
(sometimes of the summer semester, too)
there will be some orientation weeks or
days where students will be informed about

university. Many of these orientations are
compulsory and if you don’t show up there
you will not be allowed to study at the
partner university! Therefore: Please keep
always in mind that you have to be present
at the host university before the official
semester start!
Language preparation
Here you can see if there will be offered a
language course at the host university.
Sometimes you will also find additional
information like www-addresses.
Application Deadline
Usually, you have to make an extra
application at the partner university after
your nomination by the University of
Vienna. This can be either with an application form (paper based or online) or with a
direct application-procedure. The application deadline is the deadline until the
application forms have to be received at the
partner university or the online application
should have been done, at the latest.
Application requirements

application at the partner university; for
instance, transcript of records and/or proof

Joint-Study Partner
Universities
On the following pages we introduce our JOINT-STUDY
partner universities.
Within a Joint-Study programme students of the
University of Vienna are able to stay one or two semesters at
a partner university (mainly non-European). There has
been made an agreement with the partner university to
exchange students under certain conditions.
The University of Vienna pays a monthly grant for the
whole duration of the stay. It is scheduled along the budget
(of the University) and the living costs in the target country.
Additionally you will receive a travel allowance.
You will be exempted from tuition fees at the host university
and at the University of Vienna, too. You only have to pay
the “ÖH-Beitrag”.
You should do some language preparation before the start
of your stay abroad.

Erasmus Partner
Universities
On the following pages we introduce our ERASMUS partner
universities. ERASMUS = one of the programmes in the overall
programme of LifeLongLearning of the European Union. It is
designated for the higher education sector. The meaning of the
abbreviation ERASMUS is EuRopean Action Scheme for the
Mobility of University Students.
Students who will be nominated for an ERASMUS exchange
place because of ones special qualifications will be exempted
from tuition fees at the host university and at the University
of Vienna. You only have to pay the “ÖH-Beitrag”. The duration
of an ERASMUS stay can be one or two semesters or one
trimester (at least).
You will receive some funding by the European Union for the
higher living costs abroad. But it is not a full-grant so you have to
have some savings or financial support from your parents to
finance your stay abroad.
Coordinators at the host university take care for the academic
mentoring. The host universities will help in finding housing (as
good as possible). A lot of them offer orientation weeks and
integration programmes.
You should do some language preparation before the start
of your stay abroad.
More information on application prerequisites,
deadlines and the programmes you will find on:
