If you have problems with this product, for whatever reason, it is the user’s responsibility to stop the car, investigate & correct the problem before further damage occurs. 1 THIS IS A HIGH PERFORMANCE SOPHISTICATED MODEL & SO SHOULD BE TREATED WITH CARE & RESPECT. • The manual included is comprehensive and gives all the information required to operate the product. • A full step-by-step build manual & exploded drawing is included in this kit to aid maintenance, upgrades & repairs. • HPI Europe offers a “GETTING STARTED” video guide to further help with getting the most from your car. 2 EVERY EFFORT HAS BEEN MADE TO MAKE THIS CAR AS STRONG & DURABLE AS POSSIBLE, HOWEVER DUE TO ITS PERFORMANCE LEVEL, IT IS STILL POSSIBLE TO BREAK OR DAMAGE PARTS THROUGH CRASHING OR EXTREME USE. • Some parts do wear out in time (transmission parts, brakes, tyres etc) and is normal; the wear rate is dependent on type and frequency of use. • All parts for this car are available to be purchased separately, or as small sets, to allow you to get years of fun from your model. • As the body shell protects other vital parts of the car, always run the model with the body shell in place (except for breaking in the engine). It’s possible to start Nitro and petrol cars with the body in place. 3 ENSURE NITRO AND PETROL POWERED CARS HAVE ADEQUATE COOLING, REFER TO THE BODY TRIMMING INSTRUCTIONS. 4 THE USER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR OPERATING IT SAFELY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CAUTIONS IN THE INSTRUCTION MANUAL. • The user must choose the right place to operate the model. (See guidelines in the front of the manual) • The user must inspect the model before operation to prevent problems. (See guidelines in the front of the manual.) • The user is responsible for using the correct, batteries, fuel, glues, paints, chargers & any other, tools, accessories or materials required to operate & maintain this product. It is the responsibility of the user to follow the manufactures guidelines &/or precautions for ancillary products. • The user is responsible for using the correct fuel, this is essential for nitro and petrol powered models. 5 RUNNING THIS MODEL IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS NECESSITATES MORE FREQUENT MAINTENANCE, SUCH AS CLEANING AND RE-APPLICATIONS OF GREASES & OILS. • Salt water is especially corrosive. • Water in the transmitter or receiver can cause the model to go out of control, which normally causes damage to the model. • Avoid running your model through standing water. • Water in a nitro or petrol engine can cause hydraulic lock up (if drawn into the cylinder) leading to engine failure. • Electronic speed controls, on electric powered models, are especially vulnerable to water. • Water ingress almost always causes damage to electronic equipment and should be avoided. HPI, its distributors or retailers shall not be responsible for any loss or damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental or consequential, arising from the use, misuse or abuse of this product and any accessory or chemical required to operate this product. The components of your HPI products are warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of 2 years from date of purchase. In the event of any defects occurring in materials, workmanship or assembly of your product we will gladly repair or replace the defect component(s) at our discretion. If a defect in materials, workmanship or assembly is found BEFORE the product has been used, we will be delighted to exchange the entire product, assuming that the product is returned complete & in good condition in its original packaging. Your retailer is likely to require a receipt as proof of purchase. We do not operate a new for old warranty once the car has been used. Once the car has been used/operated, we operate a component level warranty; we will gladly repair or replace the defect component(s) at our discretion. NOT COVERED BY WARRANTY Crash damage. Component failure or premature wear as a result of crash damage. Lack of maintenance, improper use or abuse. Normal wear and tear. Worn-out brake disks, brake shoes, drive outputs; drive shafts, gears, bearings & belts. Water damage or problems resulting from water intake. Pull start mechanisms Pull starts should only be pulled around 20cms & cannot withstand vigorous over pulls. Clear body shells once they have been painted. Pre-painted bodies once they have been used. HOW TO CLAIM AGAINST YOUR WARRANTY HOW TO CLAIM AGAINST YOUR ENGINE WARRANTY For warranty claims contact your supplying retailer/dealer. You will need a copy of your dated sales receipt for the product. (Do not send or lose the original) For engine warranty claims contact your supplying retailer/dealer. The supplying dealer or the user may be requested to return the engine to HPI or its distributor for professional inspection. The engine must be returned with a written description of the problem encountered together with your details including a daytime telephone number. DO NOT return the product in full, you will only need to return the damaged component. You will be instructed what to return, if anything. Any returned components should be accompanied by a written description of the problem encountered together with your details including a daytime telephone number. Please note: Under no circumstances send your car with fuel in the fuel tank, fuel lines or engine. Please note: Any returned product, which is inspected by our service centre and is found to have an invalid warranty claim may be subject to an inspection and handling fee before it can be returned. Any repairs made to the product resulting from neglect or misuse will be charged (parts and labour) before work commences. In many cases it is faster & more cost effective for the user to fit replacement part on the car so we withhold the right to request this of the user. NOTE. The engine must be returned with the following items. Crankcase, crankshaft, piston, sleeve, connecting rod, cylinder head, complete carburettor and pull starter mechanism. Do not return the following: Clutch, air cleaner, manifold, or exhaust pipe. Please note: Any returned product, which is inspected by our staff and is found to have an invalid warranty claim may be subject to an inspection and handling charge before it can be returned. Any repairs made to this product resulting from neglect or damage arising from misuse will be charged (parts and labour) before work commences.
