Almost all classes are taught in English and all curricula, from the undergraduate to doctoral level, match European and American standards. Salaries Salaries vary according to the level of appointment, from a minimum for an instructor of KZT 1,849,200 to a maximum for a full professor of KZT 11,111,760 per annum. Precise details of remuneration will be given with an offer of employment. (The current exchange rate is US$ 1 = KZT 148. This rate may change. Salaries are in tenge and are not pegged to the dollar.) Housing KIMEP offers all faculty support in securing housing and in the management of relationships with property owners. Average annual cost for a one-bedroom apartment in Almaty, including utilities, is $8400. Relocation KIMEP pays $5000 to cover the cost of moving to Kazakhstan. (This is a single reimbursement and is not annual.) All employee visa and work permit costs are borne by KIMEP and the process is managed by us. Medical Support KIMEP offers basic free medical insurance to all faculty members. The package can be enhanced and extended to family members according to need. KIMEP contracts with an international service provider for English-speaking emergency coverage and provides on-campus services through its own medical facilities. Free Language Training KIMEP offers free language training to faculty and their families in both Russian and Kazakh through its Language Centre to help adjustment to the local environment. While there are a growing number of English speakers in the city, some knowledge of local languages is of great benefit. Support for Education of Children KIMEP offers up to $5,000 per family to support the private education of children of foreign employees in international schools. Support for Job Placement of Spouses/ Partners KIMEP will make every effort to find employment for spouses/partners of faculty either within the Institute or in the local labour market. Subsidized Education for Spouses/ Partners KIMEP offers a 50% subsidy to spouses / partners of faculty on its academic programs.
