The Columbia Senior Executive Program (CSEP) Spouse/Partner Program Attending CSEP requires a generous time commitment, and returning to "real" life is an important transition. At the close of the program, you are invited to bring your spouse/partner or a guest to CSEP. Guests attend some sessions with you, and they also engage in programming designed exclusively for them. Through presentations focusing on life after the program and the graduation ceremony, your guest becomes an integral part of your CSEP experience. “CHANGES THE COMPLEXITY OF THE COURSE” "My first impression was that [the spouse program] was intended to round out the CSEP program by bringing spouses in to share in the revelries of the closing few days - which is a worthy goal. We (Francene and I) were astonished at how the spouse curriculum changes the complexity of the course in many other ways. By sharing some of the key lectures and incredible lecturers with our spouses, CSEP touched on a key component of making a leadership course even more successful. Instead of the spouses hearing about our wonderful CSEP experiences, they became part of it and have helped us leverage some of the important skills and messages that we take away from CSEP. Donald (Lee) Singleton, CSEP Fall 2008 “AN INVALUABLE ADVANTAGE” "The Columbia Senior Executive Program (CSEP) was a tremendous personal experience. It has fundamentally changed my perspective on leadership, and it has clarified my values and goals in life. It was an invaluable advantage to have my spouse with me in the concluding week of the program. By attending sessions and interacting with the CSEP participants, my wife could feel and understand that CSEP is not just a program, but a transformer.“ Jurgen Weigand, CSEP Fall 2008 12:00 pm Lunch with guests 12:45 pm Lunch 12:00 pm Lunch 1:00 pm PEN & PAGE Bruce Craven 1:30 pm LEARNING GROUP REFLECTION AND LEADERSHIP CREDO NOMINATION (FOR PARTICIPANTS) Paul Ingram & Bruce Craven 1:00 pm DEPARTURE FOR AIRPORTS & MANHATTAN 4:15 pm REFLECTION 5:15 pm EXECUTIVE WELLBEING Howard Berg "AUTHENTIC LIFELONG FRIENDS“ Janet Bradshaw: "Spouse participation at CSEP is a vital component of its success: enabling delegates to share their new perspectives on life and leadership with the most important team members in their lives, and allowing us (the spouses) to gain significant insight of the CSEP process, energy and, most importantly, atmosphere. I truly valued my CSEP experience, gaining access to the very best of leadership coaching and enjoying thoroughly all the teambuilding." CSEP would not be the same without spouse participation. It made "taking CSEP home" simple and effective.'
