1 Introduction
1.1
Aim of the document
The purpose of this document is to give the reliability values for the Common
Hardware and the Crystal Hardware boards of the Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise.
The new RoHS boards are notified in the “Comments” column of the charts below. The
first part of this document lists the current “Common Hardware” & “Crystal Hardware”
boards in catalog and the second part lists the older boards for information.
1.2
Calculation rules
Calculation method: the Common Alcatel-Lucent Tool ALCAREL
General environment conditions: 40-degree C and GF (ground Fixed).
Reliability: 1 Fit = 1 failure / 10 9 hours

N = number of fits
8760 is the number of hours per year (24x365)
1.3
Items out of the scope
No MTBF value is given for items such as batteries, Hard Drive Disks and fans as
considered as consumable components that must be changed preventively.
The MTBF of the cables is not yet calculated, as it is generally very high and does not
impact the global MTBF of the system.
