Online Student Guide - At-A-Glance
What online systems will I need to access?
Troy University relies on three main systems to serve our online students :
1) Blackboard— Blackboard is TROY’s Learning Management System (LMS). To log on to the Blackboard system
simply go to https://troy.blackboard.com.
2) Troy Email — The Troy Email account is Troy University official means of communication. You can access the
email system by going to https://mail.troy.edu.
3) Trojan Web Express— The Trojan Web express system allows students to: enroll in classes, adjust your schedule,
print your unofficial academic record, change your address, view your account and your financial aid status. You can
access Trojan Web Express 24 hours a day by going clicking here.
What is my username and password for these systems?
Your username for Blackboard, Troy Email, and Trojan Web Express are all the same. If your Blackboard username is
“jsmith12345” then your email and Trojan Web Express usernames are the same. Your password for each system is
different. Your default Blackboard and Trojan Web Express password is the last four of your SSN. Your default e-mail
password is your DOB in MMDDYYYY format.
I cannot log onto Blackboard. What do I do now?
If you have just registered for a class, your Blackboard account will not be active until up to 8 hours after registration. If
you still cannot access Blackboard after 8 hours try resetting your password by clicking here. You can also contact
technical support by submitting an online helpdesk ticket by clicking here. If you forgot your Troy Helpdesk password

I cannot see my courses after I log in, what is going on and how do I proceed?
This typically happens when a student has registered for a class and the faculty member has not made the class available yet. By default, all courses are unavailable until the faculty member makes them available. It is recommended
that the student email their faculty member and verify the course status.
Computer and Browser Requirements
To utilize Blackboard effectively you must:
 Have a reliable high-speed Internet connection.

Have a computer with a Blackboard supported browser. It is recommended that PC students use Firefox or
Google Chrome for optimal performance.
