FSMS Texas History Name _______________ 1 Social Studies Textbook Chapter Multimedia Presentation Project Objective: This project is designed to allow you to present the material for a selected chapter remaining in the textbook and to incorporate the use of technology! Upon selecting which chapter you will present, you will research your textbook and the Internet to uncover information to present to your classmates. Your presentation will include the following: a PowerPoint presentation with narration and some custom animations, audio, video, etc.* an entry for your Interactive Notebooks an activity reinforcing the information presented an assessment for your audience over the material you have presented. Your presentation should be no longer than 20 minutes. Your PowerPoint should be turned into the drop box when it is completed. * Because PowerPoint only saves the link to the inserted audio/video files, A COPY OF THOSE FILES MUST BE INCLUDED IN YOUR PROJECT FOLDER! Attachments: • Project Planning Packet: This is your planning packet designed to help you prepare and complete your project. Your PowerPoint should include all group member names and a citation slide at the end. Make sure your name is in the title of the folder put in the drop box. • Project Rubric: This is for you to use to evaluate your presentation before you drop to the drop box. This is the rubric that will be used to grade your project. This is a group project; it is a cooperative learning effort for which you will receive points. You may choose to work in the computer lab as it is open every morning from 8-8:30 as is the library for computer use if you feel you need extra time. You need a pass from either parent or teacher to enter the lab or library during tutoring time. Presentations will begin May 13th. Content: Select at least 3 main facts to focus your content on per section. This is where the details from each section of the chapter will be presented by section. Conclusion: Includes the “Payoff”-what the audience has been waiting for. Bring the presentation to a close either by asking a question for the audience to think about beyond what was presented or by restating in a new way the introduction you began with-“tell them what you told them.” Wrap it up.
