Social Studies Textbook Chapter Multimedia Presentation
Project
Objective: This project is designed to allow you to present the material for a selected chapter remaining in
the textbook and to incorporate the use of technology! Upon selecting which chapter you will present, you will
research your textbook and the Internet to uncover information to present to your classmates. Your
presentation will include the following:
a PowerPoint presentation with narration and some custom animations, audio, video, etc.*
an entry for your Interactive Notebooks
an activity reinforcing the information presented
an assessment for your audience over the material you have presented.
Your presentation should be no longer than 20 minutes. Your PowerPoint should be turned into the drop box
when it is completed.
* Because PowerPoint only saves the link to the inserted audio/video files, A COPY OF THOSE FILES MUST
BE INCLUDED IN YOUR PROJECT FOLDER!
Attachments:
•
Project Planning Packet: This is your planning packet designed to help you prepare and
complete your project. Your PowerPoint should include all group member names and a citation slide at
the end. Make sure your name is in the title of the folder put in the drop box.
•
Project Rubric: This is for you to use to evaluate your presentation before you drop to the drop
box. This is the rubric that will be used to grade your project. This is a group project; it is a cooperative
learning effort for which you will receive points. All members of the group receive the same
grade.

Introduction:
Develop an introduction that will quickly explain and highlight the purpose of your presentation.
This should include a “hook” to grab the audience’s attention. Use a creative “teaser” stating
your objectives- include a “Setup” that prepares the audience for the material that will be
presented.
Content:
Select at least 3 main facts to focus your content on per section. This is where the details from
each section of the chapter will be presented by section.
Conclusion:
Includes the “Payoff”-what the audience has been waiting for. Bring the presentation to a close
either by asking a question for the audience to think about beyond what was presented or by
restating in a new way the introduction you began with-“tell them what you told them.” Wrap it up.
