The Hornet Connection
Homework Helps
Our Title 1 Parent Lunch –nLearn this month at PES is creating a “homework caddy” for your
student’s use at home. We will
also share many helpful resources which you can pick up in
school lobbies, to help you as you
encourage your students with
their homework. The Parent’s
Homework Dictionary”, which
parents can sign-out and borrow
from the PIRC, is a new tool that
is very helpful. We also shared
this workshop at PCMS last
month during Parent lunches.

Make school attendance a
priority!
Pelham City Schools has help available at each of our schools for students in need. Many of our teachers are willing to help after school,
we have support classes in place
during school hours for those needing it, and we have volunteer tutors
as well as peer tutors ready to assist. Feel free to speak to your
students teacher, principal or counselor if your student needs this
extra help.
Parent Involvement
The PCS school system believes
that parents are a vital resource
in the education of their children. Some ways to get involved:
•
Make school & attendance a
priority
•
Read with your student (for
younger children)
•
Discuss school each day
•
Communicate w/ your student’s teacher
•
Participate in school meet-
ings, special events & Parent
Lunch-n-Learns etc...
•
Join Parent Inv. Council
(there is one at each school)
we will meet again in December.
•
Chaperone field trips
•
Visit the PIRC & use it’s
resources
•
Help w/ special projects
Have a great school year and
GET INVOLVED!
Homelessness

experiencing homelessness we
would like to notify you of the
