Dinsmore lands top environmental attorneys in Kentucky
LEXINGTON (February 20, 2015) – In a move to significantly increase the firm’s environmental practice, Dinsmore & Shohl welcomes to the Lexington office five attorneys from
Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP. Partners Carolyn M. Brown, Jack C. Bender, Jennifer J.
Cave and R. Clay Larkin, along with Partner of Counsel Robin B. Thomerson made the
move to Dinsmore.

Environmental Law and Environmental Litigation practice. Jack C. Bender has also been

Past Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Environment, Energy & Resources Law Section.
Gaining this group of attorneys with deep experience in environmental and natural resources law will benefit Dinsmore’s clients as they grapple with the changing regulatory landscape. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recent rulemaking focus on carbon
pollution from fossil fuels is leading to more questions than answers.

Carolyn M. Brown’s practice focuses on all areas of environmental law and includes advice
and counseling on regulatory requirements, permitting and transactional issues as well as
environmental litigation. She was formerly the chair of Bingham Greenebaum Doll’s Environmental and Natural Resources Practice Group.
Jack C. Bender’s practice involves consulting and representing clients in litigation with respect to air, solid and hazardous waste, and wastewater compliance and permitting issues.
He is a frequent speaker at business and trade group meetings on environmental issues.
Prior to attending law school in 1984, Jack was a Professional Engineer in the field of Mining Engineering.
Jennifer J. Cave concentrates her practice on all areas of environmental and natural resources law, including advising and counseling clients on regulatory requirements, permitting, transactional issues, and enforcement matters. Jennifer also regularly represents the
interests of businesses in federal and state court litigation.

Robin B. Thomerson previously worked for the Kentucky Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet supervising the Air Legal Services Branch and has experience with waste, water and air quality issues. R. Clay Larkin’s
practice focuses on environmental and natural resources including SMCRA and coal-related environmental compliance and transactions.
