Dinsmore lands top environmental attorneys in Kentucky LEXINGTON (February 20, 2015) – In a move to significantly increase the firm’s environmental practice, Dinsmore & Shohl welcomes to the Lexington office five attorneys from Bingham Greenebaum Doll LLP. Partners Carolyn M. Brown, Jack C. Bender, Jennifer J. Cave and R. Clay Larkin, along with Partner of Counsel Robin B. Thomerson made the move to Dinsmore. “It’s a time of major transition in the environmental arena with pending regulatory changes on the horizon, and these attorneys are the ones you want on your team. They are the preeminent environmental lawyers in Kentucky with a national practice. I’m pleased they have joined our ranks and will deepen our Environmental group,” said George H. Vincent, Dinsmore’s Managing Partner and Chairman. The new attorneys are well-known throughout environmental law circles, and they have been routinely recognized for their work. The Best Lawyers in America®selected Carolyn M. Brown as the Environmental “Lawyer of the Year” for Lexington and highlighted her Environmental Law and Environmental Litigation practice. Jack C. Bender has also been honored by Best Lawyers in the fields of Administrative/Regulatory Law, Environmental Law, Environmental Litigation and Water Law. Both attorneys also appear on the Chambers USA Leading Lawyers for Business® listings, have been named Kentucky Super Lawyers®, and have AV preeminent ratings from Martindale-Hubbell. Jennifer J. Cave is a Past Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s Environment, Energy & Resources Law Section. Gaining this group of attorneys with deep experience in environmental and natural resources law will benefit Dinsmore’s clients as they grapple with the changing regulatory landscape. The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) recent rulemaking focus on carbon pollution from fossil fuels is leading to more questions than answers. “The fate of newly developed EPA rules targeting coal combustion is up in the air, and that’s causing a compliance nightmare for companies. They need to have a plan in place to conform to the new regulations, and these attorneys are on the front line advising utility companies,” said Chauncey S.R. Curtz, Dinsmore’s Natural Resources Group Chair. “As Lexington Managing Partner, I can also say their decision to join Dinsmore is a feather in the cap for our office. It demonstrates our commitment to grow and bring on talented attorneys. With their addition, we are even stronger and in a great position to serve our clients in environmental law.” “We are very pleased to be joining Dinsmore due to its national reputation for delivering high quality legal services. Dinsmore provides a platform which is very well suited for our practice,” said Carolyn Brown. Brown Bender Cave Larkin Carolyn M.
