DeVry Wireless Access • Configuring the Student/Guest device to DeVry wireless network profile. • For Windows laptop clients o o o o Go to the lower right of the system taskbar Click on the wireless network connections icon Select “DeVry-Wireless” as your wireless connection Click the “Connect” button. A status box should say, “Connecting and acquiring Network Address”. Internet Explorer should then redirect to a secure site with an error message. Select “Continue to this website (not recommended)”. You should be redirected to the login page for the Campus Wireless network. If the user homepage is an HTTPS (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure) site, you may need to load a different page. o At this point please make sure pop-up blockers are disabled before proceeding. o If this is the first time you are connecting DeVry wireless o Click on the “Install CA Certificate” link to install the required trusted CA certificate. This will avoid the website security warning page in the future. o Click on “Open” on the dialog box. o Click on the “Install Certificate” button. Click “Next”. o Select the first option to “Automatically select the certificate store…” and click “Next” and “Finish”. You should see a dialog box that says “The import was successful”. Logging In o Enter your User name (Student DSI#) and Password (Network password) to login o Before the Login button will be enabled, you must click on the “I Agree” to the terms of service checkbox at the right of the page. Once the Network authentication is passed, the user will be redirected to the standard DeVry homepage. New Students or Users with a network password reset pending. They will not be able to logon to the DeVry-Wireless until first successfully logging into a hard wired lab PC onsite. Apple Devices o All Apple Devices o When using the Safari browser, you will need to turn off pop-up blockers Go settings and select Safari and turn off ‘Block Pop-Ups’ You will need to ‘Allow’ Cookies. Go to Block Cookies Check ‘Always Allow’ You will need to ‘Clear history and website data’ You can use Google Chrome on Apple Devices (for ipads and iphones, you will need to download Google Chrome from the App Store) You will need to turn off pop-up blockers Go to settings Go to content setting Select Block pop-ups and turn it off You will need to ‘Accept Cookies’. Go to settings Go to content setting Turn on ‘Accept Cookies’ You will need to clear cookies and site data Go to settings Go to Privacy Select clear cookies and site data You may need to clear cache if you are not able to connect Go to settings Go to Privacy Select clear all Android Devices o Make sure your Wi-Fi is on and connected to the “DeVry-Wireless” network. o You can reach the Wi-Fi settings through the device’s “Settings” menu. You might be warned about an Unsecured Wi-Fi network. This can be ignored; choose to connect anyways. o Once you have connected, you should be able to open a web browser. Note: You might have to attempt to browse to a different webpage in order to see this or the login page. If you are, select to “Continue” or “Proceed Anyways” You will then be redirected to the DeVry-Wireless login page o Login Page Enter your User name (Student DSI#) and Password (Network password) to login Before the Login button will be enabled, you must Click on the “I Agree” to the terms of service checkbox at the right of the page. If the checkbox is not checked, the “Log In” button will remain disabled. Type in your D# and network password into the text boxes. Depending on the device, you might have to zoom in for a better view. Now you can press the “Log In” button. You will then be redirected to the campus home page. This process might take several seconds. You should now be connected to Internet via DeVry Wireless o Different Operating Systems on an Android Device Jellybean firmware You need to use Chrome or Firefox browser Kitkat firmware You will need to set up a default web browser o Basic Trouble Shooting If you do not see ‘DeVry-Wireless SSID’ (unable to see DeVry Wireless when selecting WiFi network) You need to check if the wireless indicator light is on Check to see if the network adapter is enabled and configured to the devices OS. o Go to Control Panel o Go to Network and Sharing Center o Go to Change adapter settings o Right click on the wireless icon and select enable o For Macintosh go to System Preferences/Network find the card and Make Service Active Your device may not be obtaining an IP on the wireless network. o Release IP “ipconfig /release”, o Renew IP “ipconfig /renew” Restart device After entering login credentials screen refreshes back to login screen. o Reset password. Verify password on a wired DeVry PC onsite. If you are able to successful login on wired DeVry PC. Clear the browser cache and try to login again. It may take 3-4 attempts after cache has been cleared before the login will cycle through. Login screen does not display or your get “Webpage cannot be displayed” error message. o You will need to connect to DeVry-Wireless SSID. Go to wireless icon and click connect Go to Internet Options and delete Cookies, temp files and history
