Entrance Requirements
All areas require a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 for admissions. In addition, students must earn a minimum grade of “C” or better in
MAC 1311; MAC 2312, CHM 1045, and PHY 2048C . A single repeated attempt in only one of these courses is permitted. Generally,
engineering majors must earn a grade of “C” or higher in all prerequisite and engineering courses which apply toward the degree, including those which are transferred. Contact the department for further details.
STUDENTS MUST SATISFY THE STATE FOREIGN LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR AT FSU PANAMA
CITY.
FSU requires competency in oral communication for graduation If students took a speech course in high school or were members
of a debate team, they may exempt this requirement during the FSU admissions process. Students may take SPC 2608 at Chipola to
satisfy this requirement.
Electrical and computer engineering students should plan on taking COP 3014 during the summer before fall admission.

Twelve (12) hours of Gordon Rule Writing are required. In addition to ENC 1101 and ENC 1102, choose from the following courses to complete the 12 hour requirement:
AML 2010, AML 2020, ENC 2210, ENL 2012, ENL 2022, HUM 2216, HUM 2233, SPT 2521, or ENC 1133.
FSU requires an international/diversity course for graduation. The Chipola courses which meet a social science requirement at Chipola and a diversity requirement at FSU
include ASH 1044, GEA 2001, GEA 2002, REL 2300, and SYG 1010. It is strongly recommended that one of these courses be completed before earning the AA degree.
This course is required for chemical engineering majors only; COP 2000 is suggested for an elective.
Do not choose any ART course, MUE 1290, or music theory. Choose from AML 2010/2020, ENL 2012/2022, HUM 2216/2233, ARH 1000, MUL 2010, THE 1020, or SPT
2521.
Students may choose to take MAP 3305, Engineering Math I, at FSU/PC during the summer before fall admission.
