...the anchor facility of the 150-acre MTC Enterprise Campus, presents a unique environment for learning and interaction between students,
faculty and the corporate community. The Technology Center represents a tangible example of how the future relationship of education
and business must evolve.
With more than 50,000 square feet of applied learning space,
the MTC Center of Excellence for Technology is a place where innovative learning and interaction with
the world of work take place.
The facility will readily transform to match the purposes of
those who use it.
Midlands Technical College created the Center of Excellence
for Technology to enhance collaboration – whether
individuals are engaged in advanced manufacturing;
training on the expansive, fully equipped manufacturing
floor; or mastering software applications in one of the
many information technology classrooms and labs. The
common factor is the progressive, relevant application of
knowledge that governs the economic success of the region.
Companies locating on the Enterprise Campus may
access
resources at the MTC Center of Excellence for Technology, which
is designed to provide the highest standards of interactivity and
instructional technology. Designed as a focus for technologybased education, the Technology Center is a site of regional
symposia on initiatives in emerging technical fields and economic
development clusters. Premium conferencing and auditorium
spaces are equipped with compressed video telecommunications
capabilities and satellite downlink. The MTC Technology Center
serves as a setting for a wide range of functions - from middle school
students’ first glimpse of careers in advanced manufacturing, to
engineering professionals working with rapid prototyping issues.
MTC Business Accelerator
An essential next step in realizing the significant potential of the Enterprise Campus and the MTC Center
of Excellence for Technology is the construction of a facility designed to serve as an accelerator and
temporary home for companies that have left the research and development stage and are ready for
start-up production. This facility, the MTC Business Accelerator, is a flexible multi-bay building designed
to simultaneously accommodate several emerging businesses, industries or technologies as each ramps
up for initial production.
MTC Business Accelerator
Once the company perfects its production techniques and is ready to leave the second-tier incubation
stage, it will be positioned to permanently locate elsewhere on the 150 acre Enterprise Campus. The
25,000-square-foot, four-bay facility is ready for customizing.
