MyDesktop Logon Instructions Note: Returning ITP students: MyDesktop replaces the RDSFarm, formerly known as the Virtual Lab. USC VPN connection is no longer necessary to access the MyDesktop. However, It is still recommended that you use USC VPN connection. Login Instructions to MyDesktop.vlab.usc.edu: 1. 2. Go https://mydesktop.vlab.usc.edu/ and click “Install VMware Horizon View Client” Select the proper client for your OS, then install 3.0 version Updated as of 8/26/14 Page 1 of 5 3. After installation, double click on VMware Horizon View 4. Click Add Server, then enter mydesktop.vlab.usc.edu Updated as of 8/26/14 Page 2 of 5 5. Enter your USCNet ID and USCNet ID password. Make sure ISD.USC.EDU is selected for the domain then click “Login” Updated as of 8/26/14 Page 3 of 5 Troubleshooting: VMWare Horizon View does not currently support dual monitors. If you have two or more monitors, you may need to change the settings so your secondary monitors may be used by your local PC. 1. Start Horizon View 2. On the upper right corner, click on the gear icon 3. On the settings menu choose General Desktop on the left pane to adjust the settings. 4. Under Display select Full Screen from the dropdown menu. 5. Click Apply then OK on the bottom right of the settings box. Mapping local drives: Horizon View does not currently support local drive mapping. Professor teaching the course. Your contact information. Your hardware, PC or MAC. The operating system of the PC or MAC used to connect to the VLAB. Version of the operating system (Windows only): 32-bit or 64-bit. Location of where you are trying to connect from (i.e. from home, from campus, etc.).
