Brock Finance & Investment Group Stock Pitch Challenge Information Package Competition Overview Brock Finance & Investment Group is excited to present its first ever stock pitch competition. Students will showcase their analytical skills though the development of a one page equity research report and a 10 minute presentation. The intense competition is designed to replicate the fast-paced, demanding experience of fundamental analysts in the real world. No prior investment experience is necessarily needed, but contestants are encouraged to seek out faculty, professionals and other students to provide insight. Finalists will be paired up with a mentor working in the industry to offer guidance and feedback. The first place student or team will be awarded a $500 grand prize. What the Mentoring Program is Aiming to Accomplish The objective of the mentoring program is to educate Goodman students entering the capital market industry and equip them with the tools to launch their careers. Mentors will review and offer feedback to students on their investment summary report and presentation slide deck. This will be accomplished through a series of 2 phone call meetings with the students between the dates of February 24 - March 13. February 21, 2014 Slide Deck & Investment Summary Due to alexander.fung@brockfinance.com Email Alexander Fung with a PowerPoint (15 slides max) and a 1page investment summary February 24, 2014 Finalists Announced Finalists will be paired up with a mentor February 24 - March 13 Mentorship Process March 15, 2014 Finals (9:15am – 2:00pm) Rules First place prize will be awarded a grand prize of $500 The pitch must be 10 minutes maximum in length and is subject to a 10 minute question period. The pitch may be done in groups of 1-2 people All applications must be submitted by February 21, 2014 in order to be considered. Applicants must select an equity security trading on the TSX, NYSE, or NASDAQ. The application submission must include a one page investment summary with recommendation and a slide deck (10-15 slides) Once finalists are selected, they must sign a commitment form ensuring attendance on pitch day. All applicants will be supplied a judging criteria (attached below). Executive members of Brock Finance & Investment Group are not eligible to participate. Applicants may approach anyone for guidance (executives, analysts, faculty, and professionals) but final product must be written by the applicant. All data is required to be sourced.
