The Thirteen Colonies Map Direction Sheet (Total pts 22pts) 1. Label the Thirteen Colonies on the large map using pages 77, 83, 87, and 111 of the social studies textbook . (13pts) 2. Color each section of colonies a different color: New England Colonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. Also, create a key on the front of the map to show which color represents what section (example ‐ blue for New England Colonies). (6pts) 3. List two key facts for each section of colonies that are characteristic of that particular section using pages 100‐106 of the social studies textbook and or the “Colonial Times and People” handout. An example of a fact would look like this ‐ Most people in the New England Colonies lived in well‐organized towns. Write the facts on the back of the map under the headings: New England Colonies, Middle Colonies, and Southern Colonies. (3pts) 4. Write your name on the top right‐hand corner of the map.
