HELPFUL HINTS
Iron rings:
They stay hot for several minutes
after heating something on them. Always
use caution when disassembling them
following a lab.
Wire gauze:
When gauze is bent, the ceramic
center will crumble and fall out making it
ineffective.
plastic coating:
The plastic coating on the beaker
tongs and some of the utility clamps will
melt if it is placed too close to the Bunsen
burner flame.
Share:
Seven other class periods use
these items in the community drawer. DO
NOT put any of this equipment into your
assigned drawer.
There will be periodic unannounced
inspections of lab drawers. If any of the
community equipment is found in your
drawer, a lab grade deduction will be made.
Stoppers:
Always lubricate with glycerin
when inserting glass tubing.
Equipment in general:
Always put it away clean! Wash
with soap & tap water, then rinse with
distilled water, and let it air dry. Distilled
water will not leave water spots when it
evaporates.
I agree to pay for any of the above items at current replacement prices
if they are broken or lost while in my possession.
