Global Consciousness

As We Move into 2015

What has changed since 2012?

We have been having evolving discussions about

Global Consciousness and its implications we prepared for a new era of peace and prosperity.

We Are Ushering in a New

Age of World Peace and

Global Prosperity

Over the course of the lasts two to three years, we have been learning about the significance of the movement from the 12 th to the 13 th Baktun of the Mayan Calendar and how this signals the time of evolution from one type of consciousness into another. While 2012 was the line in the proverbial sands of time marking the end of one cycle and the start of another, the change actually started several decades ago and will continue for many, many more decades since change of this scale of magnitude does not happen over night. If we look at this through a different lens or using different language, it is the movement from the

Piscean Age to the Aquarian Age. All cultures have a story to tell about these changes and we have the privilege of living through one of the greatest changes in the last 2000 years.

The 13 th Baktun or Aquarian age is the age in which we are to offer respect to all of creation, sentient and non-sentient. It is up to all of us to work to usher in this new age and new way of living and working.

Life Worthwhile

Everyone’s duty to your self is to be happy. To be happy, we must be aware and discern what matters from what is trivial. What matter are happiness, love and compassion.

Happiness Love and Compassion

Happiness, Love and Compassion are the new objectives of Humanity.

The role that each of us has is to make changes to the world energy so that we move from a mindset of selfishness and self-interest toward a mindset toward concern for everything around us; not just people but all of creation, sentient and non-sentient.

As we pointed out in the past, a change to the world energy cannot begin with a shift in ourselves and in how we regard all of creation; it begins with us and it must begin now.

In our classes, we have often referred to the 300-year war. We are living in a time when the struggle of the old way of thinking is giving way slowly to a new consciousness, but it cannot happen without struggle.

Change is difficult, especially for those who hold power over government and industry; they fear their loss of power and control and cannot see a world that can be better without those constructs.

We cannot be fearful if we want a better word and our job is to send a positive energy into our universe and into our world to enable the bolstering of positive thinkers and perhaps a change of heart to those who cannot see that a life filled with happiness, love and compassion is not a threat and that it is the only place you really want to be!

Moving into a Type 1

Civilization

The class was asked to list the top ten qualities of a world that lives in harmony and in an elevated consciousness that would be found in what is considered a

Type 1 Civilization based on what is known as the Kardashev Scale.

The Kardashev scale is a method of measuring a civilization’s level of technological advancement, based on the amount of energy a civilization is able to utilize. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kardashev

Significant elevation of our world’s level of Global Consciousness will be realized when our civilization aspires to the following types of attributes:

Ingredients for Meaningful

Global Change

1. Freedom from wanting of the basic necessities of life

2. Freedom from fear and the removal of militaries

3. Freedom from competitive forces ( e.g

. being first to land on the moon, etc.)

4. Freedom of choice and freedom from manipulation

(e.g. manipulative advertising, imposition of will)

5. Freedom of speech and freedom of expression; being allowed to be who you are.

6. Freedom of curiosity for and about evolution

7. Freedom for the environment and its preservation

TED TALKS

Ideas Worth Spreading

http://www.ted.com

Our class had the opportunity to view two relatively short presentations courtesy of TED Talks. One presentation was about happiness and how to arrive at a place of happiness, and the other was about personal well being. They are of course related and worthy places to gain a different perspective on what happiness and well being mean and how we can get to those places ourselves

Before you can truly gain benefit from these short videos or any other of life’s many lessons every day, you need to choose to be aware. You need to be aware and take part in your life and become your own source and reason for happiness.

Here are some ideas on how you can live in more awareness and live a life of happiness and well being.

In the first video, statistician Nic Marks asks why we measure a nation's success by its productivity — instead of by the happiness and well-being of its people. He introduces the Happy Planet Index, which tracks national well-being against resource use (because a happy life doesn't have to cost the earth). Which countries rank highest in the Happy

Planet Index? You might be surprised. http://www.ted.com/talks/nic_marks_the_happy_p lanet_index?language=en

The five most significant ways to move toward a better life and well being are through conscious effort to engage in the following activities each day:

F IVE W AYS TO L IVE A B ETTER L IFE

Connect

Be Active

Take Notice

Keep Learning

Give

Your social relationships are the most important cornerstones of your life. Do you invest the time with your loved ones that you could do, and energy? Keep building them.

The fastest way out of a bad mood: step outside, go for a walk, turn the radio on and dance. Being active is great for our positive mood.

How aware are you of things going on around the world, the seasons changing, people around you?

Do you notice what's bubbling up for you and trying to emerge? Based on a lot of evidence for mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, [very] strong for our well being.

Keep learning and keep is important -- learning throughout the whole life course. Older people who keep learning and are curious, they have much better health outcomes than those who start to close down. But it doesn't have to be formal learning; it's not knowledge based. It's more curiosity. It can be learning to cook a new dish, picking up an instrument you forgot as a child.

Keep learning.

This one is that most anti-economic of activities, but give. Our generosity, our altruism, our compassion, are all hardwired to the reward mechanism in our brain. We feel good if we give. You can do an experiment where you give two groups of people a hundred dollars in the morning. You tell one of them to spend it on themselves and one on other people. You measure their happiness at the end of the day, those that have gone and spent on other people are much happier that those that spent it on themselves.

M EASURING WHAT M AKES L IFE W ORTHWHILE

In the second video describes how when the dotcom bubble burst, hotelier Chip Conley went in search of a business model based on happiness. In an old friendship with an employee and in the wisdom of a Buddhist king, he learned that success comes from what you count. http://www.ted.com/talks/chip_conley_measuring_what_makes_life

_worthwhile

In this video, Chip asks us to consider what is really important. He reminds us of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and ties these needs to understanding of what makes life worthwhile.

Chip shows us that this pyramid is connected to “tangibles” at the level addressing our most basic needs and is also tied to our physical chakras

(chakras 1-3). He also shows the evolved progression toward the

“intangible” needs that are related to our spiritual aspirations and out higher-level chakras (6-7). In between are our own levels of physical comfort and the need for address to our personal senses of “success”

(chakras 4 and 5). The illustration is shown above.

This is a good time to explore our own value systems and to see whether we are putting value on those things in our lives that really matter! We are in a time of rapid change and our lives are tied into those changes around all us. We need to consider what is worth changing in our own lives so that our lives reflect that tangibles, intangibles and successes that are of value to us and make us happy!

C ONCLUDING R EMARKS

The underlying messages in this class and from the videos are as follows:

1.

We are currently engaged in a struggle between old Piscean thinking and new

Aquarian thinking and this transition will take about 300 years.

2.

We ourselves cannot afford to sit on the sidelines and watch. It will not happen without us, and without our positive influence, our progress to a Type 1

Civilization could be delayed from 300 to perhaps 3000 years.

3.

The way forward toward a meaningful change global consciousness calls on each of us to improve our own personal state of well being and happiness.

4.

The way that each of us can do that is to practice the simple, (but not so simple) 5 activities that are accepted as being steps means to improving our own sense of well being and happiness.

5.

Only YOU can manage your own happiness and only you can be the change you want to see in the world.

6.

We all need to make a concerted practice to be happy with our journey and with all that we all have!

7.

Finally, to help you be a Better You, explore this video called A Better You!
