Cell membrane sketch
On the front:
• Make a sketch of the cell membrane including saturated and
unsaturated phospholipids, membrane proteins and cholesterol.
• Somewhere on the front, a phospholipid needs to be drawn and
the parts labeled. Explain which parts are polar and non-polar
as well.
On the back:
• Please explain the functions of the cell membrane in complete
sentences.
• Explain the FLUID MOSAIC MODEL and how it applies to
your sketch.
• Explain the functions of membrane proteins and cholesterol in
the cell membrane.
• Explain how an organism’s cell uses unsaturated and saturated
phospholipids in its cells to adapt (if you don’t remember, or
don’t understand…ask) to its environment.
