3. WHMIS:
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is Canada’s Hazard
Communication System. WHMIS was developed to provide workers with information on the
safe use, storage, production, or handling of hazardous materials, also referred to as
controlled products, in the workplace. Any person supplying or using controlled products
must comply with WHMIS legislation: Manitoba Regulation 217/2006 Workplace Safety
and Health Regulation.
