Building upon an impressive slate of original movies, Crimes of Fashion with Kaley Cuoco and Dominic Chiansese premieres in July and Pop Rocks! with Gary Cole and Sherilyn Fenn in September. Original series on ABC Family include "Switched!" where two teens trade lives for four days, and the decorating show from Scout Productions ("Queer Eye For The Straight Guy"), "Knock First." JETIX, the kids' action/adventure programming block with "Power Rangers" as its centerpiece, airs mornings on ABC Family. DISNEY CHANNEL Disney Channel is a 24-hour general entertainment television network designed for kids and families and is currently available in 84 million homes via basic cable. Featuring original series and movies, plus contemporary acquired programming, Disney Channel is well-known for its hit series "That's So Raven," "Lizzie McGuire," "Kim Possible" and the blockbuster Disney Channel Original Movie franchise. The network also features a daily learning-based programming block for preschoolers, Playhouse Disney, which includes the original series "JoJo's Circus," "Stanley," "Rolie Polie Olie" and "Bear in the Big Blue House." For 2003, Disney Channel was the #1 rated basic cable network in primetime with Kids 6 -14 and tied for #2 in Households and Total Viewers. In total day measurement, Disney Channel was #2 in Kids 6 -11, #1 in Tweens 9-14 and tied for #2 in Households and Total Viewers. Disney Channel is not advertiser supported, although some programming is underwritten via select sponsorships. SOAPNET SOAPnet, Disney • ABC Cable Networks Group’s 24-hour soap opera channel, is the first and only cable channel dedicated to soap operas and their fans. The ad-supported network is one of the fastest growing cable channels in terms of percent subscriber growth and is currently available in over 38 million homes. SOAPnet offers same day episodes of popular daytime dramas including "All My Children," "Days of our Lives," "One Life to Live" and "General Hospital" in the evening. In addition, the network provides inside access to stars and story lines with original programs including the Daytime Emmy-nominated talk show "Soap Talk" and the half-hour series, "Soapography." TOON DISNEY Toon Disney, the 24-hour basic cable network, showcases Disney’s vast library from seven decades of magic with a variety of acquired movies and animated programs including "Disney/Pixar's Buzz Lightyear of Star Command" and "The Legend of Tarzan." The JETIX-branded action/adventure programming block including "Power Rangers DinoThunder," "Beyblade" and "Digimon," is presented evenings on Toon Disney. Ad-supported, Toon Disney is currently available in over 46 million homes. FACT SHEET INTERNATIONAL CABLE HOLDINGS Disney • ABC Cable Networks Group’s international holdings include 22 Disney Channels, three Playhouse Disney Channels (UK, France and Spain), three Toon Disney Channels (UK, France and Spain), and more than a dozen Fox Kids channels (soon transitioning to the JETIX name). The group distributes over 100 Disney-branded blocks of programming in 51 countries, reaching 600 million television viewers worldwide. In addition, JETIX-branded programming (formerly Fox Kids-branded) is distributed to more than 119 different terrestrial, cable and satellite broadcasters, operating in more than 50 countries across Europe and the Middle East. PRODUCTION Walt Disney Television Animation was integrated into the cable networks group in 2003, bringing programming and production expertise together under the same leadership. The television animation studio is now more active than at any other time in its 20-year history. PUBLIC AFFAIRS PROGRAMS Disney • ABC Cable Networks Group, in association with its cable affiliates, produces the successful "Learning Together!" public affairs events throughout the United States. "Learning Together!" encompasses all four networks within the group – ABC Family, Disney Channel, SOAPnet and Toon Disney – with five different programs, each designed to improve children’s learning and personal growth through increased family involvement. Each network has a customized program to meet the goals of the initiative. The five programs are: Disney Channel’s "Imagineer That!" and "Stanley’s Great Big Story Time Adventure" from Playhouse Disney, SOAPnet’s "Talk it Over Soaps," Toon Disney’s "Passport To Reading" and ABC Family’s "Here to Volunteer." In its first year, over 15,000 children participated in 19 "Learning Together!" events in 15 markets across the country. Thousands of books and dollars were collected to be donated to local schools and charities, and an equivalent of $25 million dollars in Public Service Announcements promoting the value of reading, communication and creativity, rotated on each channel within Disney • ABC Cable Networks Group.
