THE LIRN CONSORTIUM
The Library and Information Resources Network, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation formed in 1996, is a consortium of
educational institutions that have joined together for cost effective access to information resources. LIRN provides group
purchasing and centralized management of electronic information resources for its members along with hosted proxy and
custom federated search services. The LIRN virtual library provides students at member institutions with millions of full
text resources to support their studies. The LIRN technical team can also provide consulting and other electronic services.
LIRN has almost 200 member schools at over 700 locations in the US and abroad. LIRN’s headquarters are in Largo,
Florida and our gateway servers are housed in a commercial data center in Tampa, Florida.
Members and friends may join LIRN teleconferences, which are typically normally held 10-11 a.m. ET on the last
Thursday of the month. The LIRN annual business meeting is held in the spring. Meeting announcements, agendas, and
directions are posted on our web site, social media and newsletters.
