The Center for Professional Education at St. John’s University’s School of Risk Management, Insurance and Actuarial Science
provides specialized educational programs to individuals as well as insurance and financial services companies, both domestic
and international. Due to our flexible approach and access to premier faculty, many companies and individuals have benefited
from the Center’s array of offerings.
All our public programs are delivered at our new campus at 101 Astor Place in the heart of Silicon Alley in Manhattan. We also
develop and deliver customized programs designed to meet a client’s specific needs, using a highly collaborative approach. We
have provided unique programs to AIG, Arch, Navigators, Frenkel, Crum & Forster, Samsung Fire & Marine, RMS, and Ping An,

This accelerated, four-day course is designed for individuals who wish to expand their breadth of knowledge of the insurance and risk management
industry. The program provides a comprehensive overview of the major concepts that are the fundamental aspects of the industry. No advance
knowledge of insurance is required. Students receive a certificate from St. John’s upon successful completion of the program. The fee includes the

Brief Course in Reinsurance: A One-Day Intensive
This course is intended for those individuals who need to know the basic elements of reinsurance and how it functions, without the technical material.
Administrative, accounting personnel, systems analysts, human resources and other non-reinsurance professionals will benefit from taking this course,
which is useful for those who need to communicate with reinsurance professionals and other personnel, but who do not require an in-depth
knowledge of more intricate material. A basic knowledge of insurance is required. A glossary of terms is provided.

Actuarial Science Exam Preparation
The Center offers programs provide the knowledge and skills needed to pass the SOA-administered national exams, with a thorough review of the
fundamentals of actuarial science and its effective application.

We are approved to provide the pre-license exam preparation courses needed to sit for the broker/agent state examination. Students who are
exempt from satisfying New York’s 96-hour classroom requirement due to their professional experience should take the 28-hour cram course.
