We love traveling. While on our trip
to Africa, we met a young girl
named Ahmale on a weekday. We
asked her:
“Why aren’t you in school?” She replied “It’s my week of
shame.” We discovered that girls miss up to
1 week of school because of their
periods and use unimaginable
things like sticks, leaves, old dirty
rags to manage their periods and it
