Airplane Chapter 6 Landing Gear A. Sketch Sweep Path. Step 1. Click File Menu > New, click Part and OK. Step 2. Click Front Plane in the Feature Manager (left panel), Fig. 1. 1 Step 3. Click Sketch on the Command Manager toolbar. Step 4. Click Line Fig. 1 on the Sketch toolbar. Step 5. Draw the landing sweep path starting at the Origin , Fig. 2. Use the inferencing line, the dotted line that appears when you draw the lines horizontal and vertical. Origin Do not add any extra lines. If you make a mistake, use Undo, Ctrl-Z. Use L key to start and stop line. Step 6. Click Smart Dimension the Sketch toolbar. on Fig. 2 Fig. 3 Step 7. Add the dimensions as shown in Fig. 3. To Smart dimension click the line then move the cursor out away for the line and click. Key-in the dimension and press ENTER. B. Save as "landing gear". Step 1. Click File Menu > Save As. Step 2. Key-in landing gear for filename and press ENTER. C. Fillet Path. Step 1. Click Sketch Fillet the Sketch toolbar. on Fig. 4 Step 2. Set the Radius to .02 in the Sketch Fillet Property Manager, Fig. 4. Step 3. Click the 3 points (corners) shown in Fig. 5 and click OK Fig. 6. Click 3D Sketch on the Sketch toolbar to exit the sketch. Step 11. Click Insert Menu > Bose/Base > Sweep. Step 12. Click Profile field in the Sweep Property Manager, Fig. 14 and click the circle in the 3d Sketch, Fig. 15. Step 13. Click Path field in the Sweep Property Manager, Fig. 14 and click any part of Sketch1 (lines and fillets), Fig. 15. Step 14. Click OK . Step 15. Save. Use Ctrl-S.
