For registration, application and information pl eas e contact: Page 1 of 5 Lori Peters cell: 801-361-3048 loripeters@live.com Jolynne Goodman cell: 801-318-0865 Applications ca n also b e found at: www.strawberrydays.org Pageant Objective The objective of this pageant is to find a contestant who can ride well, speak to the public about the sport of rodeo, the City of Pleasant Grove, the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo, and represent herself, Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo, and its affiliates in a dignified and honorable manner. General Rules 1. Contestant must be between 17 and 26 years of age a s of the day of the contest. 2. Contestants must be a resident of Utah. 3. Contestant must be single, have never been married, and have no children. 4. Contestant must not have been a prior Strawberry Days Rodeo Queen. 5. Contestants shall sign a liability waiver (attached). 6. Contestants must conduct themselves in a proper, lady-like manner and portray high moral standards at all times. Rudeness toward the judges, other contestants, pageant coordinators, fans, committee/Civic Improvement members, or affiliates by contestants or contestant parents will not be tolerated. Such conduct may result in disqualification. 7. Contestants must provide their own horse for the horsemanship portion of the pageant. Winning contestants are required to use this same horse throughout their reign unless otherwise approved by the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee. 8. Winner of the Strawberry Days Rodeo Queen Pageant is required to represent Strawberry Days Rodeo at the Miss Rodeo Utah pageant. Entry fee will be paid for by the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee. Page 2 of 5 9. Winning contestants must have all other public appearances a s the Strawberry Days Rodeo Queen approved by the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee. 10. Winning contestants must plan to attend and reign over the ENTIRE STRAWBERRY DAYS RODEO AND CELEBRATION and must agree to represent the Strawberry Days Rodeo immediately from coronation through the selection of the new royalty the following year. 11. Winning contestants must be available for pre/post Strawberry Days rodeo radio, television, parades, and other public appearances, a s scheduled by the committee throughout the entire rodeo season. (Dates will be determined and winning royalty will be notified a s soon a s possible.) 12. At least one member of the royalty must represent and promote the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo at the each performance of the following rodeos: Lehi, Eagle Mountain, Herriman, Ogden Pioneer Days (unless competing at Miss Utah), Days of 47and any other rodeos a s decided by the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee. 13. Winning contestants must not have affiliation with any other rodeo royalties that have conflicting schedules with Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo obligations, May 2, 2015 through May 2, 2015. (Miss Rodeo Utah is excluded.) 14. Winning contestants will be required to help clear timed-event cattle from the arena and may be required to carry flag during the rodeo performances all nights of the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo . 15. Winning contestants will receive: Queen: Saddle, tiara, buckle, cash award and entry fee to Miss Rodeo Utah Attendants: Tiara, buckle, saddle blanket and cash award If for any reason, winning contestants cannot fulfill these obligations through the entire rodeo season, all prizes must be returned to the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee immediately and contestant(s) may forfeit their right to compete in the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee Pageant in the future. Should the queen be unable to fulfill obligations all prizes and crown, etc., shall be forfeited to the first runner-up, then second runner-up, alternate, etc., at the committee’s discretion. 17. Winning contestants must provide their own transportation to and from all activities. 18. Contestants must agree to abide by pageant rules with possibility of disqualification for infractions. 19. All decisions of the judges are final. 20. The Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee reserves the right to alter any rule and has the authority over any rule discrepancy. I have read and understand all rules and regulations on the preceding pages. I understand that the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo committee expects me to display the highest degree of sportsmanship during the pageant and following the coronation. This agreement is between the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee and the contestant. 1. Contestant has: a. received a complete copy of all rules and regulations, b. read and understands all rules and regulations, c. had the opportunity to have any questions answered fully. 2. Contestant will adhere to and comply with the rules and regulations. 3. If a contestant observes a violation, such violation shall be made known to pageant chairman or committee member so that the appropriate actions can be taken. 4. All decisions of the judges are final. 5. Contestant understands there are certain risks and dangers involved in competing in the Strawberry Days Rodeo Queen pageant and rodeo, and hereby assumes all risks of injury sustained to her person, of damage or loss to her property during or resulting from her participation in this pageant and/or related activities if chosen to represent the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo celebration. 6. Contestant hereby releases the Strawberry Days Rodeo Committee, its members and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, and causes of action of any sort pertaining to any injury to her person, or any damage or loss to her property during or resulting from her participation in this pageant and/or related activities if chosen to represent the Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days Rodeo and Celebration. I have read and understand this waiver and the foregoing release of injury. I represent and certify that my true age is _______ years.
