Copy the wheel from the overhead onto the white wheel sheet.
Copy the words in the same order onto the colored wheel sheet.
Cut both wheels out.
Color the pictures on the white wheel.
Cut along the lines on the white wheel without cutting the middle circle that says “Evolution.”
Glue the colored wheel down in your INB
Glue the center circle of the white wheel down over the other wheel in your INB.
Voila! You have a vocabulary wheel with flip pages and can study the words.
EVOLUTION VOCABULARY WORDS
Species: An individual of a population capable of breeding and producing
fertile offspring.
Gene flow: Movement of genes from one population to another.
Adaptation: A structure or behavior that makes an organism a good fit for
its environment. EX: camouflage
Population: A group of the same species that live and breed together in the
same environment.
Natural selection: Strongest most fit genes of an individual are passed on
AKA “Survival of the fittest”
Community: A group of plants and animals that interact in the same
environment.
Mutation: DNA is changed or damaged resulting in a different genetic
message being carried by that gene.
Genetic drift: Genes in a population are changed due to chance or random
events. Not natural selection.
