Dear parents, Please find attached the outline of activities done this week. Fruit basket made by children This week we continued with the unit— ‘Plants’. Before the winter break the children had sown the seeds of turnip and radish in the school garden. The children actively participated in pulling out these vegetables. The radish was used to make ‘Paratha’ which was served along with the breakfast. The children participated in the group activity of making turnip soup. Prior to this, they were told the story of ‘The Enormous Turnip’. The turnips were washed, chopped and cooked in front of the children. The soup was served to the children and they relished it. Children were introduced to few common fruits— apple, grapes and orange. Children were shown these fruits and we discussed about their colour and taste. We gave the drawing of children’s favourite fruits which they painted. Later these paintings were used to make a fruit basket.
