The Red Harmony Story
Formed in January 2009, Red Harmony rehearsed a set of songs that the group first
performed at tenor Anthony Starble’s junior recital at the California Institute of the
Arts. Met with an enthusiastic
response, the group of three men
and three women continued
building repertoire and
showcased two original
arrangements at the Los Angeles
regional Harmony Sweepstakes A
Cappella Festival, a competition
produced since 1984 by music
retailer and record label Primarily
A Cappella. There, baritone Nate
George won the aaw

meenntt for his take
on Jason Mraz’s “The Remedy,” sung by Anthony with “funky pop gusto,” according
to frequent adjudicator Amy “Bob” Engelhardt of internationally renowned vocal
group The Bobs.
Building on its success, Red Harmony produced its first full-length concert only six
months after its inception. The group was promptly approached by two TV
producers, resulting in a spot that aired on
