Met with an enthusiastic response, the group of three men and three women continued building repertoire and showcased two original arrangements at the Los Angeles regional Harmony Sweepstakes A Cappella Festival, a competition produced since 1984 by music retailer and record label Primarily A Cappella. There, baritone Nate George won the aaw waarrdd ffoorr bbeesstt oorriiggiinnaall aarrrraannggeem meenntt for his take on Jason Mraz’s “The Remedy,” sung by Anthony with “funky pop gusto,” according to frequent adjudicator Amy “Bob” Engelhardt of internationally renowned vocal group The Bobs. Building on its success, Red Harmony produced its first full-length concert only six months after its inception. The group was promptly approached by two TV producers, resulting in a spot that aired on C CN NN N and T Tiim mee W Waarrnneerr C Caabbllee O Onn D Deem maanndd,, as well as a sketch featured in the final episode of T Thhee JJeeffff D Duunnhhaam m SShhoow w.. With the contribution of each member, Red Harmony continually hones its signature sound, using arrangements by Nate and bass Christopher Thaxter.
